The location is really good, close to the town and station. Booking was easy, emails enquiries were answered promptly, single room was small but all amenities well catered for, fresh coffee in the room (really important for those of us who like our coffee. Also breakfast was perfect - set me up for challenging trekking up the peaks. Staff were...

The Ravensworth was perfectly situated for access to Windermere, Ambleside & beyond. My elderly parents struggled a bit with the stairs, but other than that the rooms were clean & tidy and the facilities offered everything we needed. I'd recommend the Cumbrian breakfast, lovely sausages and bacon, beautifully cooked and not huge portions, so still had the energy to head...

Stayed here for a few nights over new year, paid a fair price for one of the rooms in the back courtyard. We didn't take the breakfast option so can't comment on that part of it. They courtyard rooms aren't connected to the main house by any internal corridors but the house is accessible. They are however spacious and have...

Just got back from a lovely weekend in the Lakes. I booked a twin at the Ravensworth after recommendation from my sister who lives in Windermere. Lovely building full of character with cosy and welcoming lounge area (where my son and I enjoyed a few games of chess). Breakfast is taken in the conservatory which has a lovely aspect. Breakfast...

This is a lovely hotel and only 4 minutes from the train station and bus stop, however it does have parking if going by car..(I'd recommend going by car as it's too expensive to travel by train; when you can't get a refund as advertised on an used ticket!) Unfortunately this has marred the break in Windermere and Ambleside which...

Good location...handy for Windermere, Bowness and the lake. Short walk to pub, restaurants, cafes and shops of Windermere and just a little further to Bowness. We upgraded to a larger room which was clean and comfortable with tea/coffee tray, hairdryer and toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast was excellent... cold buffet plus a choice of hot breakfast cooked to order. All...

We were on a living social deal voucher, which was 2 nights B&B with afternoon tea. We were welcomed on the first day with afternoon tea. The room was very comfortable and breakfast was very nicely cooked. The guest house was only a few minutes walk to the centre of Windermere.

Hubby and I stayed here for a night after a long day walking about in the Lake district. Easy to find- lots of parking- very welcoming place! Our hosts were friendly and very accommodating- we were shown up to our room rather than just handed the keys. The room was large with lots of space for storage- comfortable bed- decent...

Stayed for 2 nights with an afternoon tea on the first day. From the time of our arrival to leaving we were not disappointed with anything about this lovely B&B. The afternoon tea was delicious and a nice touch, the breakfast was excellent and definitely one of the best we have had anywhere we have stayed. Our room was comfortable...
