I cannot recommend The Willowsmere highly enough. A beautiful place to base yourself for a stay in the Lake District. A warm welcome awaits you on arrival along with a cuppa & lots of suggestions for places to eat/visit. We stayed in one of the four poster double rooms & it was perfect. Lovely bathroom too and everything is absolutely... More

Well, where to begin.... What a fantastic find this was. Stayed for 7 nights in June 2016 and enjoyed every single moment. Guys, do not think twice, just book and enjoy yourselves. This wonderful B&B is run by Anthony and Jason (& no they are not a couple, they are cousins!) and yes they do a great job! We had... More

Lovely building with good sized car park. Very dark inside and incredibly dated in all public areas and bedrooms. Everywhere was clean but certainly not glamorous by the public rooms & bedrooms that I saw. Lovely breakfast and attentive staff on hand during this time. Slept ok however the pillows were the worst iv experienced and more like pancakes. Nice... More

Hi lulugip, I was more than disappointed when I read your review, deflated probably sums it up. Whilst I was pleased you enjoyed your breakfast and found the staff helpful I was saddened by your comments about the décor. Since I bought The Willowsmere 4 years ago, my cousin Jason and I have undertaken a comprehensive programme of refurbishments. Twelve... More

This was our third visit to The Willowsmere, and certainly won't be our last! Staff are very friendly, flexible and welcoming. On site parking is a real bonus; guest garden is beautiful/award winning; breakfasts are excellent; only a short walk to shops, restaurants and station. There's also an "Honesty Bar" for guests to use with a good selection of local... More

Spent 2 nights at beginning of July. Lovely place with a gorgeous garden to relax in. The staff were wonderful - from the gent who booked us in (and who was happy to share local knowledge) to the young waiter at breakfast and the chatty cleaner. The rooms were clean, comfy and well equipped. Great people in a fantastic place.

We were booked in here for 3 nights and can not fault Anthony and his staff one bit. When booking in Anthony took time out to find out what type of eateries we preferred and highlighted them on a map of Windermere for us also giving us his personal experience of most of them. Our room was very quiet and... More

What a good find this hotel was! Only stayed a couple of nights and wished we had planned a longer stay as only scratched the surface of this beautiful part of the world. Anthony and Jason were perfect hosts with lots of local information and a map that we found invaluable. We will certainly be back again to explore more... More

After reading other reviews, we had very high expectations of the Willowsmere. They were exceeded, as we were treated to a most enjoyable stay. It is a lovely building and garden, as well as being very tastefully furnished. Our room (no.7) was spacious, comfortable and overlooked the garden. Breakfast was delicious and the menu varied. Anthony and the team are... More
