So had wanted to stay here after watching John Tovey's Tv programme 30 + years ago.. had afternoon tea last year which was superb, but that just made us want to stay even more. We were not disappointed, a gorgeous hotel, with friendly professional staff, first class food and rooms with views to die for.

Went for a weekend visit with our 6 month old puppy. Location, food, customer service is great. Rooms a bit dated and pricey for what they are. Overall - a decent dog friendly hotel with a very charming entrance. Not far from Windermere station at all (<3 minute drive) for those taking the train.

We went there yesterday Saturday 19th November 2016 for afternoon tea and so lovely. The location is fabby, as it overlooks Lake Windermere, we were fortunate as it was a clear day and there was snow on the hills over the water. When we arrived we were made very welcome and offered seating in either the conservatory or in the... More

Excellent hotel in a great location, superb accommodation either in the main building or in the secluded "Cottage" all set in wonderful landscaped gardens with amazing views over the lake to the mountains in the distance.Friendly staff who are glad to help. Amazing food created by an imaginative chef. All- in- all a wonderful relaxing break. We will be returning.

I would visit here just for the stunning views of the lake but there was also a warm welcome and a delicious afternoon tea (best blackcurrant jam I have ever tasted). We sat on Milos bench and enjoyed the view. We will definitely return.

My partner and I booked dinner here, to celebrate our engagement. I could describe in detail how much we loved every one of our 6 courses; our wine, Prosecco and coffee. But, I would recommend instead that you visit yourself. Of course, the quality and standard of the restaurant means it is at the higher end of cost- but at... More

Recently dined at Miller Howe, Forest Side, Rothay Manor, Holbeck Ghyll and The Old Stamp House. Whilst all were excellent both my wife and myself agreed, which doesn't happen often, that, once again, both the experience and the food at Miller Howe was the best. And also the most reasonable.

We booked Sunday lunch at the Miller Howe Resturant for the views of lake Windermere, we were not disappointed. The view from the drawing room and dining room are spectacular. The Sunday lunch was a modern take on the food. Which came out well presented. It might not be for everyone as not large plate full's of food is served.... More

I recently visited Miller Howe for midweek afternoon tea. Having enjoyed afternoon tea at several top rate establishments, I was expecting a classic British luxury afternoon tea "experience". So, for the classic British afternoon tea, I would expect a warm welcome, be guided - by friendly wait staff - to a comfortable table with crisp linen, be given a menu... More
