We booked at short notice for four of us and got in on an early booking. The Restraunt was almost fully booked so you need to book in advance. Everything about the meal was spot on. The salmon was plentiful and my brother said the black pudding was the best he had ever had. Mains were equally good. Steaks were... More

Had a lovely anniversary meal here. Staff was friendly & service was super and menu was nicely varied . Would have given it 5/5 but cant say i liked the look if the wild boars head on the wall. Did make me feel kinda sad. But overall a lovely place to visit.

Arrived for early dinner (5pm) with grandparents and a 10 month old for a family meal, only to find they don't serve hot food until half 6 :-( However I can't commend the staff and chefs enough for being so welcoming and accommodating. They all went out of their way to sort something for us and served a fantastic meal... More

The check-in was fast and we were told how to find our room which we eventually did. The room was pleasant with a good sized bathroom but wardrobe space was very limited. The 1st night’s service and food was good but second night was atrocious. We were shown to a table then had to wait 10 minutes before someone came... More

We stayed at the hotel, which itself is lovely. We decided to eat at the restaurant as it was convenient after arriving late on a Friday night and the menu looked great. We sat down to eat at 8:15 but it felt like it was midnight as there seemed to be an exodus of serving staff and we were left... More

We went to The Wild Boar Hotel for our wedding anniversary. The whole weekend was excellent from checking in o checking out. We started by upgrading to a room with a walk in shower, as our dog (Lady) likes to get muddy on our walks around the 72 acres of woodland surrounding the hotel. The room was very comfortable with... Had read up on this place and made sure we could at least stop for a drink. Stopped on our way from Bowness to Lancaster and it was pouring. Lovely to find a roaring fire to dry off. (End of July !!!!) Had two their own brewed ale (£4.00 a pint). Very nice. Menu seemed well priced for what they... More

Had heard about the Wild Boar so went to have a look.Unfortunately it was pouring with rain( think power shower ++)so we had to run in and could not enjoy the lovely exterior.
