We recently stayed here for 1 night and were not impressed ! The outside looks lovely and on entering the bar area and outside terrace we liked what we seen however when we were shown to our room that is where it ended , the website describes the rooms being of a high standard however I would not agree .... We recently stayed here as a couple with our little dog. He was welcomed with open arms and we cannot fault the stay. We found the whole of windermere welcoming to dogs which was helped by the (un)seasonally nice summer weather we were having. Breakfast was lovely and they even brought a sausage out for our dog. Would definitely stay... More

spent 2 lovely nights at this hotel room was very spacious . Lovely tea and coffee making facilities but no biscuits. nice breakfast but on the whole feels like the place can't decide if it wants to be a hotel , pub or restaurant. room also a bit noisy on the main road.

We visited this hotel/dining room twice on our visit to the lakes, both times the service was excellent, meal delicious, staff very friendly and price reasonable for the surroundings. We ate in the lounge bar but you would not think it was this it was a very pleasant place to sit and eat and also enjoy a drink. We were... More

Dined at the bar because the dining room was closed due to a gas leak and ended up getting some excellent examples of Cumbrian pub fare. High quality Scotch eggs, various croquettes fried in fresh oil, tasty artisanal breads, yummy local cheeses and smoked meats, the pickled onions were a standout. Service was excellent. Bar staff were very friendly, prompt,... More

Check in was easy to do and the receptionist very friendly. The room was spacious and clean. The 'king sized' bed was actually 2 singles pushed together with king sheets over - ok but not ideal as someone always ends up sleeping on a ridge or you sleep apart. We had some cocktails in the hotel before heading out for... More
