We first stayed here for our honeymoon, 27 years ago! Obviously it has changed hands since then! However, it has remained a very special place to us over the years. We last visited in November 2016 when we took our daughter and her boyfriend along with us....they were very impressed, especially with the breakfast, which I think was the highlight...

Welcoming staff, atmospheric property, nice room comfortable bed, large bathroom (downside I'm not a bath person and there was no shower) but lashings of hot water. Comfortable bar area and a very good selection of real ales kept well, We decided to dine in for our evening meal and were rewarded with a fine plate of fish and chips Mmmm!...

Very welcoming; great real ale; good size comfortable and very clean room with lovely decor; great food; faultless service from friendly, willing and efficient staff; hearty breakfasts and good choice of tasty and well presented food. With fabulous walks straight from the property, it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We shall return!

Very tastefully refurbished rooms but still retains its lakeland charm and character. Staff welcoming, lovely room and a good choice for breakfast. A little road noise or noise from the bar (depending on which room you're in) may reach you if you are a light sleeper, but this is neverthless a great hotel in a very convenient location.

We have just returned from our 3rd trip to the Glen Rothay and I am at home watching one of he badgers feeding on the badgercam. We have loved each visit, the scenery is stunning and the hotel beautiful. You can imagine many years ago when it was a residence for an aristocratic family. The breakfast is great and the...
