For a quick stopover it's OK. However this place is tired and needs some restoration work. Outside it's also unkept where it sits next to an also tired Little Chef, the chain that is desperately trying to revive its flagging fortunes. The bed was comfortable enough but the bathroom again was a little tired, needing some tlc. My main complaint... More

This place was fairly basic but cheap and comfortable. Room was quite big, location is good for Lakes, M6 and also Penrith. Car parking is good. Nice lanes around the back to go for a run in the morning.

Room is situated next to the Plant Room which had/has a fault with the air conditioning which kept us awake all night. This was reported the following morning, reception being in a different building, and the staff knew about the fault so why put us in the room next to the Plant Room. A full discount offered without request but... More

Great value again. Excellent location for Blencathra walk, enhanced by the town's of Keswick and Penrith. Sunday night stay to avoid M6 south traffic in the evening. Such a perfect two days. You can't exit, by car, the way you entered because of the dual carriageway.

Close to the motorway with Little chef and Birger King next door. The room had an unpleasant smell and the carpets were stained. The shower is fixed and low - my height is 5"6"" and it just came to my shoulders. The pull out beds are very uncomfortable. The WIFI is per appliance not per room.

We stopped here to break up the journey home from Edinburgh. We only stopped one night but it was nice. The hotel is easy to find from the m6 and there is a little chef and Burger King next door. You get a discount at little chef by showing your room key although we didn't try the little chef as... More

My wife and I have just returned from a trip to Scotland stopping at Travelodge Penrith on the way, before staying at Travelodge Fort William. The staff were both friendly and helpful. The rooms warm clean and quiet. Excellent value for money.

usual travel lodge facilities, two buildings, main and an annex, main is next to little chef/burger king, we were in annex and room was clean as always, chap on reception was welcoming, the gripe i have is that the cleaners had put the cleaning trolley in the very narrow hallway so it was very awkward getting by with the luggage,... This motel is in two parts - the main building and an annexe. We turned up at the annexe (first time there and easy to do). There was an intercom and a notice that said (approx), "Press the button for main building and check which room you're booked into to save you lugging your kit around". I pressed and pressed... My two children and I were looking forward to our stay at Penrith Travelodge as we stayed here in 2014 and it was comfortable, and convenient for visiting Penrith and Keswick in the Lake District. Our experience this time, in August 2016, was very different. The older style pull out beds had been replaced with childrens 'beds', which were impossible... More
