We stayed at Ash Bank for one night while travelling north to south. Our room was a little quirky - the window looked out into a sun room (with views beyond), and the dressing room and toilet doors would not close - but everything in the bedroom and en suite bathroom was clean and the bed was very comfortable. There... More

My girlfriend booked this B&B for a wedding we were invited to close to Penrith so this place seemed like a perfect place to stay for the weekend as its close to the motorway and only a short walk into town. On arrival we were greeted by the owner unfortunately we didn't catch his name but he seemed really nice... More

Ashbank is a tardis, we booked the garden suite so had a spacious sitting room as well as the bedroom. Due to some confusion the bed was made as a double but was immediately converted to twin at our request along with smiling assurances that it was no trouble. Breakfast was superb, eggs from their own chickens ( whom we... More

We arrived in Penrith for about 6:00pm and followed our sat nav directions to the address given. "Is this right, did we put in the right address?", was the conversation we were having. After confirming the address a second time we knocked on the door. It turned out it was the place we were looking for. The accommodation is clearly... More

As someone else has said, there's so much more than it looks on the street - from the extra rooms in what seems a small bungalow, to the sun lounge looking down a sloping garden to the fells, to the bottom level of the garden where rabbits feed beside the chickens providing breakfast eggs. And at breakfast the sausages are... More

Looks just like a normal house from the outside but an absolute gem when you go round the back. Amazing views, spotless, good breakfast, walking distance to town and a lovely host. Our room had a seperate seating room with outstanding views, so nice to just sit, relax and unwind. Couldn't ask for any better

A fabulous b and b! Easy to find, just off the motorway. Very friendly host where nothing was too much trouble. Good size room with all facilities. Clean and a very comfortable large bed. Lovely quiet location with great views. The full English breakfast was large portion and very tasty. (Home grown eggs!) Would definately suggest you give this a... More

Have stopped here a couple of times now, a lovely B& B. Richard & Chris are very friendly, we booked in early just after 12 midday no problem. Bedrooms clean and spacious and a good breakfast is served ( not too early), will definitely stop again.

We have stayed several times as Ash Bank, makes a very good stopping off place on our journeys between Scotland and the South. We always receive a very warm welcome. Excellent full English breakfasts freshly cooked set us up for the day. Close to motorway junction but in a quiet location. Good range of restaurants and shops in Penrith.

Such a lovely place and host. We arrived quite late on a Friday night and Richard wasn't bothered in the slightest and even offered to drive us into town so we didn't have to walk for a drink. The rooms are lovely and the bed was so comfy we nicknamed it the cloud! Breakfast was gorgeous both mornings cooked by... More
