We stayed in Herdwick Inn for only one night on our way to back home from Ireland. Inn run by friendly and welcoming couple, our room was comfortable and spotless. Sadly we missed the food as we arrived later then we planned but had an opportunity to have couple of drinks with locals. Definitely recommend. Plus side dog friendly too.

Just leaving this lovely village pub after stopping over in the car park in our campervan. Had a delicious dinner of locally sourced food and the most perfect trifle we’ve ever had. Not only was the food and beer excellent, the staff could not have been more friendly. We will definitely return. 5 minutes off the M6 Penrith junction towards Keswick. Thank you

We called into the Herdwick Inn for an evening meal. Although we hadn't booked they fitted us in. Good food, tasty beer, very pleasant and helpful service. A visit for either for just a drink or a meal is highly recommended.

This was a welcome and welcoming stopover on the C2C - perfectly situated at the end of Day 1. Our hosts were welcoming, and we had excellent food both in the evening and for breakfast. There was good secure parking for the bikes, and we were able to hose them down after a very muddy day! Good real ale was a plus. The rooms are very basic, and the rooms we had at the front were very small - fine for an overnight but would have been a challenge for a longer stay. Our room overlooked the road, which was fine, but there were no net curtains, so we were a little 'exposed' unless we drew the main curtains and switched on the lights. Next time we will ask for a room at the back instead. Obviously, it's a pub, so it's a little lively in the evening, but that didn't stop me falling asleep very quickly in a comfortable bed after a good meal and a couple of pints!
