The Brantwood is nestled in Stainton just off the A66 on the way to Keswick or Ullswater. We did not stay this time but had popped in for dinner with family friends. A very good meal and at a reasonable price though the one selection of veg could be reviewed for the dishes offered. The staff are very friendly and...

We stayed here for one night on a journey South. Room was excellent the food was delicious and lots of it, gorgeous breakfast too. The welcoming staff were lovely. Will stay again when we need to go to England again.

I stayed here overnight for business. The location is nice and quiet surrounded by greenery with a pub not too far away. The rooms look to have been modified and are very comfortable! The only reason I haven't given this 5 stars is because the reception was always unmanned and that was an issue when it came to payment and...

Stopped for lunch with our Glenton coach on the way home. Driver had phoned our orders in the morning so service was quick when we arrived. Portions were ample although not many chips on plates. Staff were friendly and a nice setting with seating outside on a sunny day. Only problem was the single ladies toilet so a long queqe...

We had a lovely stay. Room very nice, food excellent, staff could not do enough for us. We had to leave early on both days and they arranged an early breakfast for us. We had a van with 5 dogs in it and they advised where we could take them for a walk.Dogs stayed in van and not in hotel....

We stayed here for a few nights, visiting family. We were surprised at the level of informality when we arrived: we gave our name but no check of address, how long we were staying, nothing like that. Everyone we met who worked in the hotel or restaurant was very likeable, a most welcoming atmosphere. We learned that breakfast was between...

My husband and I have dined here many times and simply cant fault the food, however it is a long time since we stayed here so we decided to stay two nights for the Lowther Show. The room was a lovely spacious room, overlooking the car park and rear gardens, and extremely quiet. I was disappointed to find biscuit crumbs...

Situated in a quiet village off the A66 between Penrith and Keswick. Helpful and friendly staff. Lovely garden grounds to enjoy a drink in the sun. Clean room and comfortable bed with everything you need in the room. Modern bathroom with shower over the bath.

The hotel is in all quite nice, Who i believe the main lady owner was very nice and brightened up the place/atmosphere being funny. The younger employee seemed quite reluctant to help and was not very welcoming. The bar appears to get left a lot leaving you standing their waiting for a drink for a ridiculous amount of time before...
