We stopped here for lunch as part of our Glenton Select coach trip. Its set in a quiet location & has a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our food was delicious and the portions were generous. There was a nice outside seating area which was idea for enjoying a few drinks in the sunshine. The staff were efficient and friendly.... More

Well what can I say..... Me and my boyfriend have just come back from a lovely 2 night stay at the Brentwood and we can not fault a thing. Ideal location for exploring the beautiful north lake district. Rooms are very modern and clean. Everything in them you need. Tea and coffee facilities and hair dryer. Breakfast was a great... More

The impression one gets upon entering the Brantwood is one of relaxation and quality. The bar area is not laid out with uniform chairs, but has different chairs and styles to suit. There is an air of informality, but not a lack of service and quality. The welcome is warm and with a smile. The bar menu is wide and... More

This hotel is perfect as a stop off on your travels The management put food on for us despite the chef having left because we arrived late at night. I would imagine it is lovely to stop at for a drink or lunch too as the car park at the back has a nice sitting area, parking is free and... More

I had a family meal in this hotel on a friday evening. The service was quick and friendly. The menu was full and there was something for everyone on there. I would definitely recommend this to everyone thinking of having a more 'upper class' pub meal!

I wrote a full review on this under the heading hotel and restaurant. Excellent service, but still undergoing upgrading. My room was newly decorated but other parts of the hotel are still waiting refurbishment. Rooms 1,3,7 are at the top of the stairs near a fire door that bangs - if you are a light sleeper take ear plugs just... More

This small hotel has all the modern amenities, but it still feels old-fashioned and charming. Very nice dinner, very friendly staff. It's in a quiet little village, but it's only minutes away from the M6. We stopped just for one night on our way from Scotland to London, and it was a welcome respite from a hard travel day.

This was a last minute booking as was travelling on business and wanted a halfway stop after visiting a Scottish customer. I arrived late at night so wasn't able to try the menu out but tried a couple of pints of the Hellvellyn real ale. It went down really well. I stayed in room 4 which is a small double... More
