Stayed at Oakthwaite as a wedding gift from my brother and can not fault David, Karen and their fantastic B&B. We received an amazingly warm welcome from David who gave us the low-down on Keswick and all the best places to eat and drink as well as recommending a great hike for me and my husband. Not only that, but... More

This is a 5 star B&B. It's based a few minutes walk from the centre of Keswick in a Victorian terraced house in a quiet street. David who primarily run the B&B is the perfect host, warm and friendly, he greeted us at the door, gave us a map of Keswick and talked us through what we could do and... More

We had a really relaxing New Year's break in Oakthwaite House. The kingsize room is comfortable, cosy with a relaxing decor and modern shower ensuite. The breakfasts were lovely especally the granola -like it says in the other reviews. David is a welcoming and friendly host. He recommended some easy winter walks nearby to 'clear our heads'. Derwentwater lake was beautiful... More

This is a really fantastic B&B, definitely the best we have ever stayed in and we booked it because of previous tripadvisor reviews. We stayed in room 4 which is a compact dormer room with lovely views. There are lots of thoughtful extra touches: homemade biscuits, bottled water, little bags with shampoo, shower gel, cotton wool, chocolate etc.. There was... More

A warm welcome greeted us buy David when we checked into Oakthwaite House for a long weekend. He showed us to our huge spotless bedroom (room 2) with massive queen-size bed with white linen sheets and immaculate bathroom. We stayed for 2 nights in room 3 and we were really impressed by the use of space, attention to detail (we much appreciated the welcome tray and chocolates!!) and the cleanliness of the place. The breakfast was amazing with home made granola, toast, fresh coffee and a perfectly cooked full English breakfast that will satisfy the largest of appetites... More
