Called in on a very wet Sat am for breakfast. Service was quick and friendly. We had the eggs Benedict which came with Parma ham. Nice but would have preferred some hand carved ham or even bacon. Also had the breakfast sandwich which was bacon and sausage on toasted sourdough. Both good, not huge portions but enough. Nice illy coffee.... More

My sister and stayed for one night recently, but wish it had been longer! The staff were lovely and friendly, and our room was beautiful. Very quaint, with a large bay window where we sat and drank wine on the evening ;) The room was very clean with modern shower facilities, and although we did not have time for breakfast,... More

M and I were meeting J and D for a fleeting visit to Keswick and had struggled to find any accommodation which was available for only one night at a weekend - lots of places are (understandably) only bookable for a minimum of two nights. Café Bar 26 came up trumps though, and we were able to book two rooms... More

My wife, 4-mth old daughter and I visited Café 26 for lunch after walking past and noticing an excellent table right at the window with loads of space around it for the pram. The place has a very ambient feel to it and wouldn't be out of place on a beach in Ibiza or down some secret alley in Marrakech!... More

Had brunch yesterday and we couldn't wait to return so went back today. The menu is excellent going from the usual English breakfast to kedgeree and shashuska. Food outstanding as usual as was the warm welcoming attentive service. We have been coming to Keswick for years and it wouldn't be a visit if we didn't visit our favourte cafe bar.

Ok, this review in a nutshell. Fine Clean Room, Great Food, but no showers and an employee that basically lied to us the whole time we were there. Now for the full explanation: We arrived and were given the keys to our two rooms booked. When we were handed the keys- a very sweet girl told us that the shower... More

What's happened to the lovely staff at Bar 26?! Food still good but service and staff really disappointing, what a shame as we are regulars there and have noticed a real difference since our last visit. Food was slow and all new team not attentive or friendly as before. Seems to have lost it's great atmosphere!

Just returned from a overnight stay at cafe bar 26 and would recommend it to anyone. We stayed in room 1 (there are only 4 guest rooms) which although quite compact was a lovely decorated and comfortable room. It is overlooking the front Street and as others have said, there is slight noise from the bar but nothing too bad.... More

My partner & I have just spent Easter weekend in the B&B accommodation above the cafe. On arrival, although the young girl behind the bar (no specific check-in area) was very pleasant & trying to be helpful, she Initially difficulty in locating our booking, after a 9 1/2 hour drive, marooned with suitcases trying not to obstruct the buzzing bar,...
