If you can handle the midges and the weather, this is one of the most beautiful, scenic campsites anywhere. I have been visiting for many years and it's no secret that the farmer and his wife have no idea when it comes to customer relations. They are both rude, unfriendly and could not make it more obvious, how much they... More

I was unaware that the campsite was located down a very narrow lumpy bumpy unmade rough road, my little car had to drive very slow. I went to the campsite reception white caravan in the first field and paid my fee in cash. I was given a permit to tie on my tent and display at all times. I pitched... More

I stayed at Hollow's farm for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The location is one of the most beautiful areas in the lakes and from every window in the hotel the views are breath-taking. Our room was large with lovely furniture, everywhere was spotlessly clean and lovingly taken care of. The shower was invigorating and excellent for... More

Fab little cottage nestled below the stunning fells of the Borrowdale valley. Pretty little village of Grange on the doorstep, and in easy walking distance of Derwent water. So many options for walks and climbs makes this an ideal base to set off from. Cottage itself is intimate and comfortable with all you need utility wise. On a working farm... More

Just spent the weekend camping on this site in the fantastic Borrowdale valley with our older scouts - who were completing an expedition. The owners and team who run the site could not be more helpful to us, the facilities were clean and tidy, with the toilet block thoroughly cleaned daily. Whilst the site was very busy (both fields) as... More

I have been staying at this site once a year for 12 years now. It is a good basic camp site that is unrivalled in its surroundings. Now I stay with my three kids aged 10 and under, they love playing on the rocks and hills. Although scary for adults, they always seem to play safely and with other kids.... More

My partner and I picked this campsite for our bank holiday weekend away. We arrived at the campsite on Friday afternoon, the campsite was very quite with around 10 tents on both fields. We decided to stay onto of the hill between both and loved this little spot as we was by our self. The campsite is very close to... More

we stayed in the wood field during the august bank holiday and enjoyed ourselves so much we extended our stay twice (not the only ones). the facilities on site were fine, the toilets etc were regularly cleaned etc, and our 8 year old daughter is always up for an adventure , so walking up to the farm to get a... It was easy enough to book through the insideout website, and all of the dealings with Simon were simple enough. Although we never met he was very friendly when emailing with any questions. The site was easy enough to find and the yurt was ready and waiting. It was clean, with enough beds to comfortably fit 4, and additionals if... More

This is not a campsite, it is a field where you can pitch your tent. The grass is long and the ground is rough and stony. Access is along a rough track. Facilities are basic and in peak season inadequate. The toilets are a tricky walk - if you are young old disabled or it is dark. The showers are... More
