My husband and myself called into the kings arms last night while on our trip around the lake district. It is most definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. The food was lovely and as previously people have said the food portions are large, which after a long journey you need. The staff we very helpful and... More

Me and my boyfriend had some food here when we visited the Lake District from the Midlands. Food was beautiful and definitely generous on the portion sizes! All staff were very friendly and very welcoming, making conversation asking where we live etc. P.S the onion rings are huge!

We called in at the Kings Arms after several of the places we had been recommended were too busy to get a table but wished we had waited . When we went down to the restaurant it was busy and we were told it would be a 30 min wait so we had a drink in the pleasant bar area... More

We stayed at the Kings Arms on the 5/6/7th July 2016 I must say room 8 was like a indoor mountain climb to get there also the noise from the square was intolerable so we were moved to room 12 at the back of the hotel still noise until the early hours. The breakfast was cold by the time we... More

I ate at the King's Arms recently. It's a lovely pub & has a great dining room, so I was expecting some really good & tasty food. I chose the Lakeland Lamb priced at over £16.00 (or perhaps I should say...overpriced at £16.00!). This was 3 slices of the 'toughest' lamb I have ever come across. I don't know if... More

This hotel was lovely, don't be put off that when entering it looks very much like a pub! The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. The staff work very hard to make the stay enjoyable and are all friendly and helpful. We stayed as part of our coast to coast cycle and the hotel securely stored the bikes. Would... More

We love stopping in this hotel but after reading some reviews I have to agree that. The market getting set up woke us up, I know it's been there hundreds of years but surely it's the hotels fault ,why can't they get it moved to a different town. It rained non stop another fault of the hotel...loud groups outside after... More

This is a return visit to the restaurant in this hotel with a few year's gap between visits. The quality and choice were just as high on both visits. Not cheap but great value for what you get. I had an interesting starter of black and white pudding with a poached egg with a smoky bacon sauce. The lamb was... More

We stayed the weekend of 24/26 June in room 12. If the price had been half of what we were charged (£131 per night) the stay might have been reasonable. The room was small, no bath, very humid and very noisy. There was a large vent (?) outside our window which made a noise all night. The room overlooked a... More
