I recently celebrated my 50th birthday and couldn't have wished for a better place to celebrate in. From making our booking in February to leaving the hotel after a lovely time on 14 December I really felt taken care of. Maria allocated us the lovely Poets Room an unexpected surprise. The room is really large with plenty of seating which... More

Myself & partner were treated to a weekend stay here for our 30th birthdays & it didn't disappoint. It's a lovely quante hotel right in the centre of Keswicks high street so of a night time you do hear the pub goers, although it's not disturbing. They have a great mix of entertainment on & I couldn't fault the staff,... More

During a visit to Keswick for 1st wedding anniversary went here first for a snack and then on the day we went for meal. On both occasions the staff were smart, polite and very helpful. The food was excellent, well presented, tasty and hot. Would most certainly recommend.

Called in for lunch on Sunday, Keswick's Victorian Christmas fair day. Really nice time in the town but lunch in the Skiddaw was a let down. We both chose the turkey dinner from the Xmas menu @£11.95. 3 small slices of turkey, a small dollop of stuffing and a splash of gravy with an undercooked roast potato. The accompanying veg... More

We have stayed at the Skiddaw quite a few times over the years. You always get a warm and friendly welcome and this continues throughout your stay . The staff seem to enjoy their work and nothing is too much trouble. We prefer Keswick in the Winter as it is very busy in the Summer . We also like to... More

Ate in restaurant on Saturday. Don't know where to start. The food was at best dreadful. Over microwaved with cling film still attached to plate. Service by our allocated waiter was also dreadful. Wrong menus, unable to locate sufficient bread rolls and how long does it take to find a wine menu. If it had not been that it was... More

We visited Keswick for a day and by the middle of the afternoon we were looking for a light lunch and a comfortable seat! The conservatory-style restaurant at the front of the hotel looked very appealing so in we went. we were welcomed by the staff and shown to a seat by the window which gave us a great view... More

A fantastic hotel onky ruined by the sub school dinner standard meal that was included in the room rate. The room, location and the friendly staff were fantastic and made the stay very comfortable, however the food in the restaurant would be poor by anyones standards. I would recommend a stay but definitely not to dine

Had an unscheduled overnight pit stop at this Keswick hotel with the Spaniel after a car breakdown. And I found it unexpectedly pleasant despite the Christmas decorations already up in mid-November. Inexpensive with a good dinner and a substantial breakfast. The bed creaked a bit but otherwise a comfortable night's rest.

Myself and hubby decided on a whim to do an over night stay in Keswick, last Saturday (1st Nov). We looked on line and saw the Skiddaw had one room left, which my husband promptly booked, at the price of £169.00 for B&B. We arrived about half hour earlier than check in time of 3 o' clock. Parking is a... More
