We'd booked four nights away to the KCHH to take the opportunity to get some runs in my favourite part of the UK. Having read some of the other reviews I was slightly apprehensive about what we would find but have to say this is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in for a while. We had a double room on the third floor which looked out over Latrigg and the old railway station. The room was lovely and clean and well equipped with toiletries and teas/coffees. Bed was nice and comfy and the room was a good temperature. Breakfast was served at the table in the restaurant due to Covid restricted but came quickly and there were plenty of options available. We also ate in the restaurant one evening as we'd left it too late to pop into town. Evening meal was £34 each for three courses which was on par with what we'd spent in town the night before and all three courses were well presented and tasty. Drinks at the bar were hotel prices, if you want cheap there is a Spoons in town but as we'd done two runs in the day we decided to chill out in the bar. All the staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble, we were just sad they had to close due to lockdown as we'd been looking forward to a longer stay. Location was perfect right next to Fitz Park and straight out to Latrigg and Skiddaw too. We'll definitely be back as soon as we can.

Great Hotel in beautiful surroundings. We had a dual aspect room for 2 nights Monday/Tuesday this week , just before the lockdown. Originally booked for Thursday/Friday and they kindly let us switch due to the COVID new rules. Everything was of a high standard. The room had great views towards the Mountains and Keswick outskirts. Facilities in the room really good and very clean, with plenty of towels and tea-making facilities. The whole hotel had a luxurious feel with plenty of lounges to pass the time with a drink or two. The Staff were very attentive and friendly in the Bar/Lounge. The Lonsdale Dining Room exceeded our expectations. Breakfast could not be faulted with great choices Hot or Cold. The Service again exceptional. We had Evening Meal on first day. Totally delicious with plenty of choice on the Menu. The Staff are so efficient and friendly. We will certainly be back when things get back to normal. Keswick is such a beautiful town in the North Lakes and so handy for other places in the Lakes. Great, Great break, just when we needed it.

We have had a 3 night stay which went beyond all expectations for a 3 star hotel. Special mention for the food which was excellent. The menu for the evening meal changed completely each night, had great choices for a meat eater and a vegetarian and the quality of food was excellent. Staff were attentive and did all they could to make you feel welcome. The public areas are very spacious and comfortable. We had the Junior suite which was very comfortable, had a cosy lounge area and wonderful views. Will definitely return.

I love traditional British hotels like this. So different to the chains where all the hotels are the same. This is an old building but full of character. The public rooms have been refurbished so the bar and lounge are beautifully decorated and provide a comfortable and relaxing venue for a drink or a coffee at any time of the day. Similarly, the dining room is very attractive, quite classy in fact and is a really conducive space in which to dine. Talking of which, the food at dinner was quite outstanding, far better than what my wife and I expected from a three star. The team producing this food know what they’re doing and the result is exceptionally well cooked food of a high standard. We ate there twice being so impressed after our first night. The dining room team are also exceptional, like a well oiled machine, led brilliantly by a very pleasant and enthusiastic lady. Again , far better than any three star. Breakfast was just as good despite the difficulties of covid and again, the team worked well in a busy setting. All the staff are a credit to the hotel , so pleasant and welcoming, determined to do all they can to make your stay a good one. Some areas need a bit of TLC but our room was warm and comfortable with great views. The location of the hotel is good, just a few minutes from town and a walkable distance from the lake. We had a great time and will definitely go again.

We have come back to Keswick Country House Hotel a few times now and we have never been disappointed by the facilities. The staff are very pleasant and keen to make your stay comfortable. Even with the Covid restriction, there was plenty of space in the restaurant at breakfast and dinner time. Dinner was excellent and breakfast was good, though a little limited due to table service only. There is good parking outside and the hotel is right next to the town centre with excellent walks in Fitz Park next door. The walk to Latrigg and Skiddaw starts right behind the Hotel and the Railway path is also next to the Hotel. The bar downstairs is lovely and the lounge rooms have a homely feel to them. The Junior Suite was a good size with excellent views of the large garden (with bunnies running around) and the Peaks. There was plenty of stock for coffee and tea left in the room. The room was very quiet and very had good sleep. We did not use the lift but going up and down the stairs was easy and other residents kept the social distance in mind. Overall, another excellent stay at the Hotel and we will be back very soon.
