This was the first time my wife and I, have stayed at the Highfield, hopefully it will not be our last time. The Hotel is immaculate, a lovely lounge to relax in, a beautiful dining room and a nice little snug to have a beer or a glass of wine. We stayed half board, the breakfasts and diners were absolutely... More

The price was reasonable considering the season. Checked in very nicely but we weren't told about the parking at the back. But our registration plate number was asked for. So spent a lot of time trying to find parking. Secondly there is no wifi in room 11. I asked the lady at the desk. She wasn't the lady who checked... More

Room on second floor with views over Derwentwater. Excellent location. Like others we found pillows to be not the most comfortable. Room was a good size and well supplied with refreshments and toiletries. Ample drawer space. Like many hotels the TV could be heard from an adjoining room and also the muted sounds of conversation, but not enough to stop... More

The hotel sits in a central location of the town. Looking onto Crazy golf, a beautiful designed garden and the theatre by the lake. The lake is within 10 minutes walk of the hotel. With some picturesque views The town has plenty of options for eating, within 5 minutes of the hotel we chose the hotel restaurant which Was one... More

We stayed at the Highfield for two nights during our visit to the UK. This hotel provided us with a great jumping off point for exploring the Lake District, and overall, our experience was a good one. The staff was responsive to our needs. The room was spacious and came with an amazing view of Derwent water. Breakfast was solid... More

Thank you for the review about your stay at Highfield. I can only apologise that the bed and pillows were not to your liking. In your review you have stated that staff were responsive to your needs, however I am unaware that any issues were raised with staff during your stay, and had they been, we would have tried to... We stayed here for a couple of nights after our wedding. The room was comfortable with a really high end bathroom. The cooked breakfast was really good using high quality ingredients. The restaurant was a real highlight. Excellent traditional food served with a modern twist. Would love to stay again.

Stayed here for 3 nights recently and on arriving we thought we would have to park on the road but soon as we where checking in we got informed of the car park at the rear of the property and and also the offer of help with the bags felt like we had 5 star treatment. The twin room we... More

We stayed for 4 nights and had an excellent experience. This felt like 5 star treatment in a small private location. Accommodation, staff, and the general ambience were equally good. We dined in on all 4 evenings, but never managed more than 2 courses. Perhaps the only change that we might have welcomed would have been the inclusion of one... More

From the moment we arrived the staff at this well appointed hotel were friendly inviting and helpful and this never faltered in our four day stay. The room was always clean. The restaurant was excellent both at breakfast and evening meal (we rarely eat in the hotels we stay in but here we ate breakfast everyday and evening meal twice).... More

Stayed for one night but really wished we'd had longer. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble. We were upgraded to a beautiful room with a view of the lake. It was beautifully decorated. Very comfy bed & dinner in the restaurant was amazing, a taste sensation. I was so looking forward to breakfast as dinner was... More
