My mum and I have recently returned from our visit to the lakes and a lovely stay at Pitcairn House. The location is perfect for getting into Keswick and easy to find. The B and B itself is immaculate and modern. Heather and Steve were the perfect hosts welcoming us to their home. Even lending my mum some glasses when... More

I have stayed in many guesthouses and this was head and shoulders above them all. The rooms are immaculate with nice extra touches, bottles of water, biscuits, toiletries and different mugs each day. Going up the stairs back to your room you pass a box with cakes and a sign saying help yourself. Breakfast is varied and plentiful, tell them the... More

The location and the owners are great, with lots of knowledge of the area's hiking opportunities. Breakfast excellent, fresh fruit especially, and good cooked breakfast. Room was a tad small though, not much space when there are two, each with their own suitcase and especially if you get a day of heavy rain, but we managed fine.

We have just spent four nights at Pitcairn House and had a wonderful time. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The attention to detail was wonderful - everything you could want had been provided. We stayed in the feature room with views over the fells from both windows. The bed and room were very comfortable with lovely decor and... More

We came as a family of three, at quite short notice, to Keswick and were so lucky to find two rooms available at Pitcairn House. Having visited family in the area many times, we were reluctant to stay anywhere other than central Keswick and this B&B couldn't have had a better location. All restaurants were a maximum 5 minute walk... More

We stayed at Pitcairn house for two nights at the beginning of August and it couldn't have been better. Great central location, hosts very friendly and helpful in directing us on our chosen walk and fresh cakes on the landing in the afternoons. We had gotten engaged earlier in the week so our stay in the Feature Room was even... More

Stayed at Heather and Steves lovely BnB for 2 nights. We stayed in the room on the 1st floor. Had to carry our suitcases up the staircase, however this is the case with most hotels and BnBs in UK. Heather was very helpful - she shared details of possible walks that we could do. She shared printouts with details. She... More

I had booked one night at Pitcairn House and it was so lovely I extended my stay to three nights. The room was cosy, clean and welcoming, the view from the window of Skiddaw was amazing. Heather and Steve were friendly and very hospitable. Heather caringly handed me some snacks to take on my walks around the Keswick hills and... More
