The oldest public house in Keswick some good ale and a good choice of single malt whisky. However, if you want to dine here you will not be disappointed the portions are huge and if you are really looking to fill yourself up for days try the enormous cow pie!! Rooms are spacious and homely but you will only be... More

We often call into the George on our way home from a long walk, or a visit to the market. The food here is always excellent, portions are generous, good home cooked food. The atmosphere is always welcoming, staff pleasant and efficient. The Sunday lunch was no different, the roast beef was tender, the vegetables well cooked and the puddings... More

attempted to book a room as a single traveller. was informed to call back when the manager was available and talk to him nicely and may be accommodated ? According to website 9 out of 12 rooms were available. No surprise there ! I did not bother to call back and found alternative .

When you called, you asked if you could have the special offer of Dinner, Bed & Breakfast for the price of Bed & Breakfast. I informed you this was only available for two people sharing a room, as stated on our website More

Great food in restaurant, the portions are as large as a mountain. Breakfast orders can be a little mixed up, but not a major problem! Ideal location, not particularly noisy, good atmosphere. But NO internet coverage from the hotel or 4G coverage??

The George is the oldest inn in Keswick, it is well maintained and retains some of its traditional charm. We stayed for one night, fabulous, the room was very comfortable, plenty of storage space. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was cooked to order and we had our evening meal in the hotel, both delicious. Food is locally... More

We booked a two night break at this hotel as it is nice and central in Keswick, unfortunately it was not the stay we anticipated. The room was clean and tidy but they could do with upgrading the beds as ours was very uncomfortable, the shower is not modern either. On our first morning the breakfast service was terrible, we... From this review I can clearly see that some people are more familiar with fast food than fresh, local, cooked to order food, The George is renowned for the excellent food we provide both at breakfast time, lunch and evenings, we do not serve fast food, we serve fresh food as fast as we can !!
