Spent two lovely nights here. Room spacious and comfortable with everything we needed. Staff attentive and friendly. 3 miles from Keswick but close to everything . Breakfast delicious and just the right amount. Evening meals - good choice freshly prepared and very nice. Hotel has large conservatory type restaurant/bar that overlooks lake with stunning views. Last minute booking for 1night, very reasonable, room 2 was ideal for single occupancy ,although above the bar not too much noise. Lovely location with views over to catbells and all the staff were very polite and professional, good choices for evening meals and ample breakfast. Family run and doing a great job.

Stopped off here on our way back from the Lodore Falls on a cold drizzly day. Received a friendly welcome and settled in front of the fire for a very good mulled wine. Fantastic views (on a better day) lovely spot.

I stay here at least once a year and I think it gets better all of the time. I stayed for one night on my own in room 4 and found it very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The evening meal in the bar area was good and tasty and breakfast was very nice too with a... More

We have been visiting Borrowdale for many years and have often visited the Mary Mount Hotel for meals but hadn't stayed before. Having enjoyed the view from the restaurant with the abundant birds and scenery, we thought it would be lovely to see that view whilst staying in the hotel. Unfortunately, we hadn't realised that the hotel had built a... More

We've been visiting borrowdale for 40 years , camping B&B's cottages and hotels, we've stayed at the mary mount many times but this last visit was disappointing. The room was good the staff were good but the food was dreadful, poor menu - lack of choice - and to be served food that was average and basic let the place... More

Beautiful setting, clean and fresh accommodation, with fantastic facilities and acceptance of four legged friends. Real ale on tap, which is not ordinarily offered in the majority of hotels which is definitely a plus point. On the down side, there was a limited 1 hour breakfast slot which was not ideal for early or late risers, although if caught, the... More

We had a pentagonal shape room with a good view over the lake. The room was spacious and comfortable. Drink making facilities were above average. The restaurant offered a large variety of seating options again with a splendied view of the lake and feeding birds adjacent. Orders were placed at the bar; food was very good with ample portions. Waiter... More

It seems that dog owners are put in a separate small building close to the hotel (it was fine). Evening meal was excellent and we could dine in the bar area. Only bad points were the rubbish shower hose (which was obviously damaged for a long time), the broken towel rack, and the limited breakfast time of 8-9am (breakfast was... More
