Popped in for breakfast one morning while we were on holiday, first impressions staff didn't seem that friendly. It was early and did have guests in restaurant ,so may have been busy. But the food was really got. A little bit expensive but not too bothered about that. Not sure if I'd visit again.

my partner and i visited this quaint olde worlde pub , this is a no frills pub but the kind of place to go to as if going back in time when pubs were pubs family run and grans cooking ,the old beams and dark oak fill this place, with threadbare carpets and old tiled toliets give a feel of... More

Have not been into this nearby hotel for a few years so it was quite a shock to find it so quiet and in need of some serious refurbishment, a few years ago, this was one of the most popular bar/restaurants in the area and you had to book well in advance to get a table in the main bar... More

Very run down hotel, well past its prime and most certainly would NOT recommend the accommodation to anyone. £60 paid for B & B for a room that smelt damp, wall paper peeling, plenty spiders and flies to play with and a bed that probably hasn't seen a new mattress for a while. Electric radiators provided in place of central... More

Never stayed in the hotel section, but the bar & food are good. The bluebell doesn't have any music, sky sports or live acts, but because of this the beer is really cheap, £1.70 - 2.20 a pint, it's great too, without a tv showing random sport events it encourages people to talk and all over the bar you can... This weekend we ate at the Bluebell and had fish and chips. The fish was lovely (hand battered), the chips were great, the portion size was very good, and I felt the price was very reasonable for a pub meal; less than eight quid. I would definately eat there again. I give the fish and chips 5 stars as a... More

The Blue Bell is a gem of a place conveniently situated for attractions in the Lakes. It is a Samuel Smith's house - which means the beer is cheap and excellent. The quality and range of really well-priced food on offer is very good. There are several vegetarian options available, more than many restaurants serve, all of which are very tasty.... More

I travelled to England with my 80 year old grandmother from Australia and whilst visiting family in the Lakes we stayed at the Blue Bell and had a lovely time, the staff where great and very welcoming the rooms where clean and comfortable, I see other comments about no tv or music but really who needs that when you have... I last visited the Blue Bell over 10 yrs. ago and at the time it was a lovely pub/hotel with excellent home cooked food and a welcoming atmosphere; sadly no more. We only popped in for a meal but I feared the worst when the bar had no real ale and the barmaid was not overly welcoming. On the plus... More

I stayed here at the end of August with a big bunch of family members, and i have to say the family who run the place are very helpful and friendly. There were some things that could be improved on the place such as music and TVs as this was a let down - but i am informed that this... More
