Every Time we come to the pub it has been lovely, always have a lovely menu with a good choice on the special board menu and desert menu! And a great choice of drinks. Lovely staff who are very accommodating! A big play area for children, with crazy golf, alpacas and chickens.

Ate here two nights running as food was good on first visit and although some of the staff could have been more welcoming we felt it good enough to return. The beef and ale pie was tasty albeit slightly burnt in places and the fish and chips were lovely. Fresh white fish in an extremely crisp batter, although we did... More

We were staying in Kendal and decided to take the dog on the train, and stopped off here for a drink or two in the sunshine. The walk from the train station wasn't far but all up hill on a very windy road. Quite scary as there was only a very narrow pavement. But it was worth it sat outside... More

Our first visit was amazing, didn't book a table but staff were very accomodating. Food was amazing and very good value for Money. Kids meals were also a great deal. Very comfortable to sit and take in the amazing buzz in the pub. Staff were attentive without being overbearing. Great choices of refreshments for every taste. Plenty of parking facilities... More

LOCATION/AMENITIES First of all, large pub, nice decor, traditional with lovely garden. Great kids play area and plenty of tables next to that. Love the hens roaming around and the alpacas in the field next door. FOOD Well for four of us, three were reasonably happy, one was not. Two having lasagne with garlic bread enjoyed it, though the lasagne... More

We really enjoyed it our stay at this hotel, apart from one night that we have to wait and hour for food, it was really busy, food is amazing and the housekeepers are friendly and polite. Breakfast is really good too. Plus you are near to Windermere, Ambleside and all the Lakes around it. We went for a walk to... More

We always visit here when we visit the lakes. Our daughter loves the outdoor play area and animals. We came here this time with my mother and my younger brother and ordered food from across the car park and then some drinks. these were served in plastic cups for some reason but we didn't mind. We always get served by... More

Stopped on way to Kendal giod weather so sat outside , you are then treated as irresponsible with your drinks and get them served in plastic containers however since it was a warm day and i was looking forward to some refreshment i accepted went on to order some food. started with the breads with oil as the menu described... After travelling for a couple of hours on route to Lake Windermere we stopped off here to stretch our legs and have a cold refreshing drink on a warm afternoon. They have a wonderful outdoor adventure playground for children. The bar staff were friendly and although we did not eat here the menu looked appealing. A good range of drinks... More

We stayed here for one night as we were attending a wedding at the nearby Castle Green Hotel. The staff were wonderful and very helpful, even calling us a taxi to the wedding when we were running late having been stuck in traffic on the way there. Our room was lovely, nice big space with good furniture and a decent... More
