Both the rooms and the hosts are simply wonderful. The location is also great - just a few minutes from the major towns of the Lake District, but remote and quiet. We had a beutiful walk just from the door of the guesthouse, the views of Esthwaite Water when walking down the hill are splendid. Very highly recommended!

Booked Buckle Yeat's single room (of which there have been no photos until now, so I didn't know what a lovely little room I was getting) on a Saturday and stayed for one night on the Sunday. Beautiful building and setting, very peaceful but right next to the pub, friendly but not over-attentive service, and delicious and extensive breakfast. The... More

I booked Buckle Yeat a few months in advance of planning a Beatrix Potter themed trip to the Lakes. I was delighted that they had a double and single room available in late June, with very reasonable prices. When I arrived with my companion after a nine hour drive from Bath, we received a warm welcome not only from the... More

Just 2 minute's walk to Beatrix Potter's charming home and just a short walk into the village centre. A really enjoyable and filling breakfast that set us up for the day's exploration of the beautiful area.

A beautiful guesthouse offering great hospitality and a location with easy access into the Dales. Having stayed two nights we loved the place, the rooms are spacious enough to be comfortable, and the little touches such as home made biscuits are a great add on. Breakfast will certainly set you up for the day, with fresh fruit, yoghurts, pastries, kippers,... More

We recently stayed at Buckle Yeat for a two day stay as we decided to go away at short notice and we were lucky enough to get in. Using our trusty Trip Advisor I booked Buckle Yeat as it had excellent reviews and was not let down. Our hosts Helen and Robert were wonderful and we felt so welcomed. I... More

We stayed here for four nights in April 2016 and we had a fantastic time. The Buckle Yeat Guest House is in a beautiful location next to Beatrix Potter's Hill Top Farm. The owners, Robert and Helen, made us feel very welcome and the personal touch they provide makes this guest house a fantastic place to stay. The room was... More

Buckle Yeat (it means 'fasten the gate') is a picturesque Guest House literally a few yards from Beatrix Potter's home of Hill Top. The building is referred to in several of her wonderful books. It has private parking (essential in a such a small village with such narrow roads). The hosts are extremely friendly and welcoming, and the breakfasts. If... More
