Had a lovely evening on Saturday. The feta cheese chicken was beautiful, well presented and tasty! Busy pub with great beer and nice spiced hot cider. Will be back later this week to try another dish off the menu.

A small friendly pub in a lovely village setting with a good selection of real ales. Staff helpful , in a cosy atmosphere. No parking to the pub, but as we were there out of season , the main car park in the village was free. ( Although there was nothing to actually advertise this). We didn't eat , but...

My partner and I decided a couple of years ago that we didn't really need Christmas presents, so I suggested we treat each other to three nights, dinner, b&b in the Spring at this pub. The welcome we received and the excellent food and company meant that we've booked again for April this year for the third time. We take...

Probably the smallest pub in Hawkshead but this just adds to its cosiness. It's a friendly pub with a small but well stocked bar serving a good selection of beers and whisky's. The pub does fill up given its size so be prepared to have to stand.

I have had two meals in the very busy little pub in the last few days. both were very good. The fish pie was fantastic. Although the staff were extremely busy, they were pleasant and helpful especially the waitress that ran after use after my friend left leaving her glasses on the table. many thanks. I highly recommend the kings...

We arrived here soaked with our 2 dogs after a 15 mile walk to have a quick pint. The staff were very friendly and the Oyster Stout was lovely and as we drank it the lady who runs the place dried our wet jackets. A very, very nice gesture, very thoughtful. We'll be back!

We called in for lunch and receive a warm friendly welcome from the staff. There was a great choice on the menu and everything was reasonably priced. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and my husband thought his pint of mild was one of the best he had had for a long time. Many thanks for a great lunch.

This is a cracking place to stay. The location is perfect for the South Lakes. The Hotel is set in the picturesque square. Rooms are clean and comfortable with the cosy bar below. There is a good choice of beer with excellent food. There is a warm atmosphere and have always enjoyed the stay over a number of years
