We stayed for one night and had breakfast, lunch and dinner here. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The lunch and dinner were both excellent and the breakfast outstanding - the best we have had. Hawkshead itself is very small but a good base to...

Stayed for 2 nights with a girl-friend when her parents were unable to make the booking, so the destination was already pre-decided - and Im so pleased it was, as when arranging any breaks I tend to aim to stay in larger towns and visit the smaller ones on our travels. However staying in Hawkshead was wonderful as its such...

After reading the reviews we ate here last year and it was brilliant. On returning to Hawkshead with our daughter and husband, we booked a meal for Valentine's Day and told them they would not be disappointed.....sadly we were! After studying the menu, two of us chose the cod....only to be told they didn't have any left ( at 7...

Stayed here for my boyfriends birthday, we had the lovely four poster room. Everything was clean, tidy and comfortable. There was some noise that could be heard from the neighbouring rooms but nothing too bad. The staff were fantastic and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was great, with a good selection.

We have had drinks here in the past in this cosy open fired hostelry but we hadn't eaten here before wow !!! The food was amazing we chose off the specials board .For our starter were the best cooked scallops ever. Accompanied by black pudding chorizo and a cauliflower purée . Our main meals also were fantastic chicken fajitas and...

After taking a detour home from taking the children out for the day we stumbled upon this very quaint pub, was greeted with a warm welcome and a warm open log fire, staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Good selection on the menu also a good choice on the children's menu not just your usual of...

Spent two nights at the Sun Inn Hawkshead and had excellent service, good food and the staff work very hard to make your stay enjoyable. I understand dogs are allowed into the pub area but not In restaurant or hotel rooms. Nice clean cosy room and comfortable beds would certainly go again

We arrived in the late evening after a very long journey with lots of traffic. We had been informed by the hotel that if we did not arrive by 9pm there would be no chance of food. Given the quality of what we ate I wish we had missed this deadline. The room was small but fit for purpose. The...

Stayed here with friends for a night away. The hotel is really accessible and right in the centre of the lovely village of Hawkshead. The staff were great and really friendly. Parking is in the main car park in Hawkshead but is free, and the hotel sort it out for you. The bar is really cozy with open fire and...

We stayed for 2 nights on a Groupon offer. We were welcomed by the manager, who carried my case up to room 7. The room was very clean and looked great but, unfortunately, the ceiling sloped so much that it made moving around the room difficult. The tea and coffee making facilities were under the eaves and you had to...
