Came up for two nights, we have been before a few years ago. Really liked the room after a nice welcome - very friendly. Very comfortable bed, bit of noise from the boiler and kitchen fan in the morning but a minor problem. Nice bathroom and everything was excellent

Visited Hawkeshead yesterday. Been to The Queens Head a couple of time before and the food was amazing. Sadly things have changed. The focus now seems to be on the way the food looks rather than on the taste. I had steak, I asked for medium and it came well done. Such a shame. The desserts again look amazing but... More

My husband and l stayed at the Queens Head for 3 nights . The staff were very polite and welcoming . The bedroom and bathroom room were quite small but very clean .The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was lovely . The hotel is located in a lovely village with several other pubs and a selection of small... More

Visit visit visit, ticks every box and yes it's more expensive than the other local pubs within walking distance but it's worth every penny. If you look at our reviews you will see we visited a local pub close by and it was disgraceful and I choose my words carefully. At queens nish was welcoming straightaway and helped us settle... My wife and I stayed at the Queenshead Hawkshead in September from Wednesday to Friday. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel welcome, we were given our key and shown to our room by the lovely Carolina. On route she explained everything we needed to know about the hotel and to just ask if we needed anything... More

My husband and myself spent two nights at this lovely pub, we booked a superior room and it certainly was, it was very spacious, beautifully appointed, had a fabulous big comfortable bed and everything you could want or need. All the staff were professional and friendly, breakfast was good with plenty of choice, we would most definately return and recommend.

We had the sharing Sunday roast board and chose the lamb and beef for our meats. Both were cooked nice and pink as it should be. Great roast potatoes, Yorkshire and veg selection making an excellent Sunday lunch. Being able to carve up the meat yourself at the table is a great idea and we ended up with a big... More

Reason to boom this place was the high rating at Tripadvisor. The pictures from the website didn't very convincing but the prices were very reasonable. After two nighs stay we were very satisfied and the experience was better than expected. Resons, people are very friendly, the pub is historical, pitoresk, amd very cosy, and the rooms are very modern, clean... More

This hotel used to be one of our favourite places ever. We have stayed there 4 or 5 times over the last 10 years. However, since our last visit the hotel has changed hands and we were so disappointed with our visit last weekend. The rooms are still excellent, but unfortunately the food is terrible on the whole. I totally... More
