A we drove up to the Queen ' s Head Hotel my heart sank as I turned to my husband and said " I can not stay here!" You know that old saying "don't judge a book by its cover", that is exactly what I did. I assumed because it was an old village Pub that the rooms would not... More

The advertising sounded very interesting and different for sunday lunch. Myself and my partner came back from a trip out to have a meal at the Queens head but we were very disappointed. Alarm bells started ringing when we were refused a Yorkshire pudding with Lamb, who doesnt have a Yorkshire pud with all meat on a Sunday, especially being... More

Me, my fiancée and her family came for a visit up to the Lake District for a holiday and went to the Queen's Head hotel for some food, the staff were wonderful and also it was a bit disappointing for food wait. But overall we enjoyed our meal.

Came across this great pub whilst driving around the lakes. What a find, the Sunday lunch is served on a board and you carve your own meat. The beef was tender and rare, just how my partner likes it and the pork and crackling cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back, next time to stop the night.

Fantastic pub in the pretty village. We had Sunday lunch which was scrumptious. Lovely, warm, welcoming atmosphere, fresh cooked food and lovely desserts. Very child and dog friendly, but get there early or book to save disappointment.

Popped in for a quick lunch after some exploring! Had a lovely couple of sandwiches with a couple of beers and the service was excellent, price was very reasonable as well. We will visit again when we are next in the area, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Stayed here 3 weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our room was right at back of hotel so was very quiet. Comfy beds, room clean and good shower. Beer was a treat from local brewery. Breakfast very good and staff very obliging.

Called at the Queens Head on a Thursday night. We were allocated our table promptly by pleasant staff. Our first choices off the menu were unavailable, our second choice was fish and chips which were excellent, the batter was crispy and the fish was very tasty. Only down side was our starter bread and butter was served on a slate... More

We just took a 4-day trip into the English Lake District, probably the most beautiful part of the UK. The Queen's Head Hotel is in a perfect location, in a small village well-served by shops, pubs, local walks and public transport. It is at the heart of beautiful post-glacial mountain scenery. There are so many opportunities for walkers, climbers, water... More
