We had a lovely stay at lancrigg with our baby. Marketa was on duty most of the time we were there and was very friendly and welcoming. Really gorgeous setting with a lovely garden with views up and valley and a number of walks you...More

Generally very nice. It might not be for everyone as The Lancrigg just a little bit off in a way we found very entertaining. However, not worthy of more than 3 stars for a few reasons. So, good things first: staff were very friendly. The...More

Dear Paul R, Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. Sorry that you found a few things comical, let me try and explain some of what is going on behind the scenes: Lancrigg is a 17th century Grade II listed building that was...More

Absolutely the most luxurious hotel of our trip. Beautiful and historic building which has been kept up wonderfully and modernised without taking away from its charm. The grounds are beautiful, the full English in the morning was delicious, the room was large with a four...More

Pleasantly enjoyed our recent trip to the Lake District-mostly because of our stay in the wonderful country house near Grasmere lake. The staff were extremely flexible and helpful - made last minute arrangements to accommodate additional guests in-spite of being quite full. The accommodation was...More

Excellent place to stop for a tea and food after the walk up the Helm Crag, which starts just outside the cafe. Lots of hospitality and can feel the love for the pooches! The view in the seating area outside is great as well.

About
Description
The Lancrigg is set in the totally peaceful and picturesque village of Grasmere. We are situated just 800 yards from the the very busy village centre. The accommodation is comfortable and relaxing and makes a More truly wonderful escape, access to the walks are right out of our door. There are no roads beyond Lancrigg, just the tumbling fells and streams. The house has many connections with past and present writers, artists and musicians. There is a sense of peace when relaxing at Lancrigg that nobody can quite put their finger on, some suggest it may be the water that flows under the building through the Helm Crag rock. The Lancrigg is open to non-residents with a fantastic variety of refreshments available from both the restaurant and The Poets Cafe & Bar which opens from 8:30am for breakfast and serves a classic lunch menu from 11am untill late. The restaurant is available from 6:30pm. The Lancrigg restaurant offers a fantastic menu to suit all diets. Less

We stayed for one night earlier in the summer. I would say my only issue with the property was the approach drive which was very bumpy to the point of me grinding to a halt. The hotel is in a lovely location with a great... More

Hello, yes we love having dogs to stay. If you could bring your dogs favourite basket that would be great. Plenty of great walks here so he/she will be sleeping well!
