We stayed in one of the lodge rooms that hasn't yet had a refurb, but that didn't matter at all. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable with a huge bed and it had its own conservatory overlooking the garden, what more could you ask for. The hotel has been very tastefully decorated, trendy and cosmopolitan but done with... More

Stayed here over the weekend for one night in the Superior Lodge which is around 30m away from the main hotel. The rooms are beautiful. Tastefully decorated, clean and modern without being out of place with the surroundings. The beds are huge without taking too much space up in the room itself. There was a Nespresso Coffee machine and Molton... More

As a customer of 13 years of the Goldrill & now the Grand at Grasmere I can say that a superb update of the hotel has taken place over the last year under new ownership. The decor, lounges, restaurant, bar and rooms are excellent. The quality of the food is wonderful cooked with superb flavours. The staff were delightful &... More

We really like everything you have said! Thank you. It has been very difficult to make improvements whilst open, but also a must if we are to make a success of the Hotel! We are continuing to make changes, with the next 2 room upgrades being planned today! We will never please everyone, all of the time, but we are... More

We have just returned from a week at the Grand. The hotel has been refurbished and modernised and looks very smart, modern and clean in the lounge and dining areas. We stayed in room 33, with lovely views, a comfortable bed, but bathroom in need of updating. The toilet did not always fill up and flush! We reported this to reception... More

Thank you for your comments! We are very pleased you like some aspects of the modernisation, and sorry there were bits you didn't like! We did try at length to fix the toilet during your stay, but it needs some special parts which have been ordered! The restaurant changes are quite a move from what was offered before, and it... We had previously stayed at the excellent Grand at Lythm St Annes and were interested to discover whether its sister hotel the Grand at Grasmere would live up to the high standards set by the former. The short answer is "absolutely". The hotel is very modern without being gimmicky and enjoys a lovely location; the rooms are very comfortable and... More

We have stayed here before but when the hotel was called the Gold Rill. However, despite the refurbishment of the dining room and bar, the service has not changed. It was as outstanding as our previous visit. We stayed in a lodge room again and it was extremely spacious and clean. The breakfast was outstanding with a wide selection. The... More

Very, very pleasant experience. Refurbished hotel only opened earlier this year we understand. Lovely decor, throughout the rooms we saw . Dining room well laid out and dinner and breakfast excellent with a good menu choice. Our room had super King bed looking over fields towards the lake. We look forward to our next visit.

Dined in the restaurant, it was a wonderful evening. The decor is beautiful, the staff were attentive, pleasant and polite and the food was excellent.
