Central location in the village with nice grounds and own car park. Welcoming entrance with fireplace, pleasant staff, good breakfast and dinner. It was clearly popular and full. Spa area not as clean as it should be and my swimming costume still reeked of chlorine after 2 washes. Connecting doors between rooms allow noise from kids to travel. Published times...

My husband Keith and I spent a lovely 3 nights at this hotel on the 9th, 10th and 11th January. We have absolutely nothing to complain about - only praise!! Most of all, the staff here deserve that praise. They were all unfailingly polite, professional and approachable. Couldn't be faulted. Which speaks volumes for management also. The food was excellent,...

As well as being very comfortable we had chocolates and a small bottle of champagne waiting in the room when we arrived. The food in the evening was excellent as were the New Years Eve celebrations....

We booked a three night stay including two evening meals and a Cream tea through Secret Escapes and a very competitive rate. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to the executive four poster bedroom which was large and had a modern bathroom although the main décor was perhaps a bit old fashioned in style. We had some minor housekeeping...

Although only one night on this occasion the experience was truly outstanding. From the moment we checked in to the moment we left the service was excellent. Attentive staff are difficult to find. The wordsworth have achieved that.. Those little things really did make the difference. The bar manager remembered us as soon as we revisited the bar in the...
