Lovely clean room with home made flapjacks one day with our early morning (self made) tea. Paul and James were both friendly and helpfulwith restuarant suggestions and we enjoyed delicious breakfasts - what more could you want!

This is an excellent B&B run by a very friendly couple. It is in the centre of the town but in a quiet spot. The room was spotless and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. Ambleside is an ideal base in the Lake District. Take the walk to the waterfall next to the B&B.

Excellent stay at this B&B.The owners were lovely and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Room was excellent with lots of little added luxuries. We stayed for 2 nights but could have stayed for a week. Breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit loaf, lovely berries for our porridge . We had home made ginger biscuits in... More

We stayed here over August bank holiday weekend and had a fantastic trip. We stayed in the Stockgyhll room with views over the waterwheel and it was fantastic. James and Paul were excellent hosts, with Paul's freshly baked goods being an extra treat at breakfast. They were so helpful with recommending walks and restaurants within the local area as well.... My husband and I have just returned from a lovely stay at this B and B. It's a charming building built around the 1600s, most of the features and the character have been retained which gives it great charm, yet modern facilities such as lovely bathrooms and wifi have been tastefully added to the rooms to ensure every comfort. The... More

Everything was wonderful- the location was ideal, the guesthouse was clean and very pretty, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very fresh and tasty and I loved the little extras, such as a decanter of port and homemade flapjacks left in our room as a welcome treat. I'd definitely recommend it!

Delightful B&B centrally placed, high quality fixtures, substantial English breakfast and very helpful owners. There is no parking but it is possible to unload in North Rd and park in the main car park using a pass provided, which is actually a better system than having an allocated space. Be careful that your SatNav doesn't direct you up Bridge St... More

My wife went for a two-night stay at the wonderful Waterwheel B&B with another couple of friends last weekend, and while the weather may have let us down slightly with some rain, we still had a great weekend, not least because of the excellent accommodation. Hosts James and Paul couldn't have been more welcoming and seemed to have thought of... More

Thanks for your lovely review. It's a shame that you got such bad weather, but good to hear that it didn't spoil your stay. That's one of the good things about the Lake District - the weather doesn't have to get in the way of a good time here. We're looking forward to welcoming you again soon! Paul & James More
