This is a B&B in the centre of Ambleside with a friendly reception and great views from the room. However our "king size" room was quite small and the furniture didn't really fit. The mattress was way past it's best and in need of replacement. The en-suite shower room was small, I had to sit on the toilet at an... More

We stayed here August bank holiday weekend and had a lovely stay. Mick, Geri and Sarah are brilliant hosts, very welcoming. Breakfast was lovely and the room very comfortable. Will definitely be stopping again! Thank you for a lovely weekend. X

We stayed at Lacet House at the beginning and end of our Inn Way hiking tour of the Lake District. Geri and Mick could not have been more welcoming and helpful, and their daughter, Sarah, brightened our breakfasts. When we returned for our second night at the end of our hiking trip, we felt like we were coming back to... More

This B&B would easily get 4 stars but for the traffic past your window. All traffic passing through Ambleside pass by this B&B via the adjacent roundabout . Windows have to be shut until after 10.00pm. Owners here are all first rate. Very friendly and helpful - especially Sarah who serves the very good breakfast in the mornings. The B&B... More

We recently stayed at the Lacet House for 2 days during a week long walk in the Lake District. The owners were great with recommendations on what to do in Ambleside and definitely very helpful when we came back soaked after a day long walk in the rain. The breakfast was great, too.

This was our overnight B&B prior to starting the Inn Way walk around the Lake District. It's pretty well situated centrally in Ambleside, although traffic noise was a bit of an issue as we sleep with the windows open & we were on the ground floor. Very friendly welcome, nice room (a rather softer bed than we're used to, but... More

My wife and I have just had a very relaxing weekend staying at this small but very comfortable hotel in the centre of Ambleside, the staff in this family run hotel were very friendly and helpful and the food was very nice. The room that we had booked was classed as mountain view which was I think a little optimistic... More

Geri & Mick, provided everything we needed for our long weekend away. Even our dog was catered for. We had over and above everything we needed. Loved it and would stay again. Highly recommend Knipe Cottage for all our dog friendly families. This is the cottage for pet owners, little home from home 😆

Stayed for the last 2 nights. Family run b and b and all are very friendly. Always on hand and the fresh milk for your brews is a nice touch. Stopped in the 4 poster bedroom. Very clean and comfortable. Traffic a little noisy but it is a central location but did not stop us having a good night's sleep.... More
