I stayed here for a couple of days recently. Average b an b. Bedroom and bathroom were clean. Breakfast.ok. Cornflakes without a doubt were not Kellogg's despite Kellogg's box being on the shelf. Staff were very friendly unlike the owners who 'pander' round their "regulars" and ignore new visitors, very off-putting indeed. Would I return error in a nutshell _... More

Booked in for 3 nights and weren't disappointed. Hotel staff extremely friendly, nothing was too much trouble, room lovely and clean and well equipped. Hotel perfectly situated, will definitely be back. Breakfast superb, thank you all for a relaxing break.

I stayed at this hotel about 1 year ago. We booked the more premium room with a balcony. As this was quite an expensive stay compared to our other Lake District trips I did expect a little more. Our room didn't have a proper bathroom as the shower was separate in a cupboard. This might be something people dont really... More

My last venue for a stay in the Lakes was very disappointing - so I was not daring to hope that this experience would be better - but - I was absolutely delighted by my stay at the Fisherbeck. From the very beginning I was impressed. The lady on reception was welcoming and very efficient. She actually accompanied me to... More

We arrived and weren’t disappointed a room at the front of the hotel one of two with balconies. With a supersize king bed, white furniture, light decoration, Bathroom with 2 sink’s!, shower and spa bath. The... More

We booked into the Fisherbeck for the weekend, we always stay in Ambleside when we visit the lakes, this time we decided to try somewhere new. We found the Fisherbeck by chance looking on the website, we booked in and were not dissapointed. The room was at the back of the hotel and it was quiet and clean, the bedroom... More

We had a weekend here bought for us. Access to the main building and rooms is difficult for those of us with restricted mobility though, as said, we didn't book. Our room was pleasant. However we did look at one of the garden rooms. Fabulous. If we go again, that's what we would book. The breakfast is fabulous. The staff... More

Thank you very much indeed for your very kind praise of our wonderful staff. They are quite brilliant and we could not keep as clean, comfortable and well serviced as we do without them. One of the difficulties of being built on an incline is that we have stairs almost everywhere but our Garden Rooms have proved extremely popular particularly... More

What can I say the best hotel I've stayed in. The owners and staff were friendly, welcoming and extremely accomadating, they went above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent time. On arrival we were given complementary hot drinks whilst we waited for our room which was ready 3 hours before the check in time which was fabulous. The... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review and we are thrilled that you had a wonderful honeymoon. You were so fortunate with the weather both in Gretna and here in Ambleside, and that certainly helps. The views from our front facing rooms really are lovely and quite a bonus when you throw back the curtains.... More

Just returned from two nights at the Fisherbeck in Ambleside, a town which we have visited frequently for 30 years. The Fisherbeck is a large B&B, it's is not a hotel but has a size and efficiency which borders upon one. Accommodation prices in this part of the world are high, we paid £160 per night to sleep a family... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review and whilst you were not wowed by your experience we have taken note of your comments. Sorry about the mattress protector. We change these on a very regular basis and we sometimes have to substitute ones which have a protective backing, which will again be removed after the... More
