Sharon and Paul extremely welcoming and friendly. Lovely homely atmosphere with lots of thoughtful touches such as the provision of dog towel, torches, sewing kit etc. very quiet area with wonderful views and walks and yet only a 5 minute walk into town. Return journey slightly longer as uphill. Exceptionally good breakfast and definitely will be returning.

A great welcome from Paul, everything was to hand and lots more. The hotel is five minutes from Ambleside. Very quiet with superb views and with excellent access to the fells. We enjoyed a very tasty breakfast made by our host Sharon. On site car parking is a huge bonus. Many thanks.

Sharon and Paul gave us a warm welcome. Very clean. Pretty views.Sharon and Paul were very polite, and gave us advice on where to eat, parking and traffic etc...Winford guest house is away from the main road. Shops and pubs are within walking distance which was convenient. We will definitely visit again.

This is another of our many visits to Wynford in the past 12 months. The location is quiet and relaxing, very handy for the centre of Ambleside. The hosts, Sharon and Paul, you can't fault them. Welcoming from the moment you arrive till the moment you leave. The breakfast in the morning is a perfect start to the day and... More

I found this little guest house as a late booking and what a gem I've discovered. Tucked away up nook lane is the property, lovely location ideal for walkers and getting around Ambleside in general, Sharon and Paul were lovely and we were made to feel very welcome, we took our dog which was pre arranged aswell. The property is... More

Only small but beautifully kept, the room was large, well appointed & very comfy. We were there the beginning of Dec 2015, just as the floods started so we were kept informed about the roads & travel by Paul. Both him & Sharon were great particularly as I had a nasty slip in the flood water on the way down... More

Incredibly friendly owners always very chatty which made it so much more personal to the visit. The breakfast was great. The location was perfect for the Kankku off road trips. And a 5 minute walk to Ambleside. The views from the room were outstanding. The rooms themselves are very tidy and neat. Admittedly the only downside is the limp shower... More

I booked into this guest house for a two day cycling trip. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners. They had a room ready for me at 10am allowing me to have a full day cycling on the day I arrived, provided a key to a locked storage place allowing me to securely store my bike overnight and allowed... My Wife and I fell upon this delightful B&B in Ambelside when we had to find a room for a nights stay at short notice. Paul and Sharon were accommodating throughout, which included allowing a single nights stay over a weekend (quite a rare thing in the Lakes!) and making breakfast earlier than normal to allow my wife to get... A wonderful place, run by wonderful people. Nothing was to much trouble and they met our every need. It is situated in a great place only a short walk from the town and from beautiful walks. You know you have come to the right place when after a long days hiking you are made a hot pot of coffee and... More
