Just returned from 4 nights in Nanny Brow. It is tagged as B&B I would easily call it a luxury small hotel. We stayed in one of the junior suites (Langdale) It has it all: very spacious, beautifully decorated, furnished with some good quality antiques, luxuries soft furnishings. You could feel that the owners were aiming to spoil their guests &... More

We stayed at Nanny Brow for 2 nights recently and had the most wonderful time. We stayed in Skelwith, which is on the front of the building and has some beautiful views. The room was very tastefully decorated, had a good sized en suite and was absolutely spotless. The bed was a bit creaky but very comfortable, and the room... More

Thoroughly recommend - beautiful location, nestling in tranquil dales setting. The owners are so helpful and it was both relaxing and welcoming. We stayed in a suite and felt really pampered. You can walk straight out from Nanny Brow and the walks are glorious. Good range of local restaurants for dinner and the breakfasts were great too. Will go back!... More

We returned to the Nanny Brow having stayed for our honeymoon 28 years ago. We stayed for 2 nights and everything was perfect. We stayed in Loughrigg which is one of the "comfort" rooms. Room was lovely with a large comfortable bed and plenty of space and a good sized en suite. The daily " cake" baked by Sue is... More

We stayed there for a long weekend. The location was absolutely stunning with marvellous views of the hills/mountains in the background. It's approximately 1 mile from Ambleside. Sue was a fantastic hostess going beyond the call of duty when we were failed by the local taxis. The staff were very friendly and welcoming - especially Louise who was the perfect... More

Wonderful service and breakfasts. They couldn't do enough for us. Nothing was too much trouble, even on Saturday night when they were supposed to be off. The rooms we stayed in were immaculate and each day fresh cake was left for us to enjoy. Although prices are a little more than hoped for, our stay was worth every penny. We... More

Spent a great two nights at Nanny Brow. We got the last available room, which was a standard room (loughrigg). It was a good size with a spacious bathroom. We faced the back, no good views, but the front of the property has fantastic views of the hills. Only negative of the room was the squeaky headboard. I've always found... More

Fabulous location overlooking the Brathay valley. We stayed at Nanny Brow during the August Bank holiday weekend. The property is situated in a beautiful setting, far enough from the noise of Ambleside but still within walking distance to the town. If you enjoy walking and are reasonably fit try the hill walk to Ambleside (through the back gate). Nanny Brow is perfect place to stay. The... More
