We stayed in the cheapest room but was a lovely room with a large ensuite shower/toilet. Brekfast was lovely and the afternoon cake left in our room each day was so good. The two young girls looking after us Milly and Olivia were a delight and so pleasant to talk to. The weather was beautiful whilst we stayed there and... More

The hotel is very comfortable with large and elegantly furnished public rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were of outstanding quality. Furthermore, the hotel has a beautiful view of some the Lake District mountains. The weather was so good during our visit that we were able to savour these views from the comfort of the hotel's... We were looking for a relaxing night away in the lakes (child free for the first time) and scoured trip adviser for ideas. We stumbled across the Nanny Brow reviews and it sounded ideal for what we were looking for. We weren't disappointed, Nanny Brow is highly rated and deservedly so. The setting is absolutely stunning. The house maintains its... More

We stayed at Nanny Brow for just 2nights. Everything was wonderful and perfect. The breakfast is amazing, and the room was superb. The views are beautiful, and you can take a great and beautiful walk just from the house, and come back for a drink in the garden, as we did. Service is perfect Just wish we could have stayed... Stayed at Nanny Brow for just 2nights as a birthday treat and what a treat! Everything was just spot on. The breakfast is not to be missed and neither are the afternoon treats of home made cake/shortbread. Our room was beautifully furnished with a grand bathroom. Outside is just as perfect too and Nanny Brow had its own private access... More

We stayed here as a pre wedding stress free mini break. What a joy. It's a beautiful property set in fabulous surroundings. We stayed in the loweswater room which had a balcony leading from the sitting room and a mezzanine bedroom. The rooms were fantastic. Lovely furniture and beautiful bathroom with a deep bath and walk in shower. Sue and... More

Fabulous setting, really beautiful gardens, well appointed room (Buttermere suite) with large bathroom (no bath), friendly staff and owners. Breakfast was really good, lots of choice, including a huge fruit salad which was fresh and had lots of variety, proper cooked breakfast (ie not powdered eggs used in some places), lovely fresh scrambled eggs, proper bread, local yoghurt etc. The... My wife and I stayed 2 nights in the 'Langdale Suite', it was beautifully furnished and spacious as was the whole building. The gardens are immaculate and view from the rooms are to die for. The owner and staff are super friendly and helpful and if visiting The Lakes again we would definatley head to Nanny Brow!

My husband and I stayed at the Nanny Brow as an anniversary get away. It's perfectly situated just outside Ambleside on the road to Coniston and only 25 minutes walk into Ambleside itself, so great if you want to walk into Ambleside for a meal in an evening. We were also able to walk from the hotel straight onto the... More

Im so grateful to Sue and the staff at retur Nanny Brow for the care they took in making a rare child-free weekend so special. The house and grounds are absolutely beautiful and I wish we had had more time to enjoy them. My annoying dietary requirements were catered for without batting an eyelid. The breakfast was large and wonderful.... More
