The Drunken Duck is a favourite of ours, and it never disappoints. The food was delightful, and service excellent and friendly. A change for this visit, is that a wall has been knocked down so you can now see the kitchen in action; we were seated right by it, which was great fun. They work hard in there for sure!... More

The Drunken Duck is the perfect place to stay with its combination of spacious and comfortable rooms, wonderful food and easy access to some of the best walking trails in the Lake District. The staff are among the most helpful that I have ever experienced. I highly recommend a visit.

This was our second visit to this renowned Lakeland gem. We were shown to the same table as we'd had the previous year - from there the sameness ended as one would expect, the menu changes regularly enough to provide a few surprises. The menu balances traditional fare with a modern twist, it's food cleverly done and leaves one wishing... More

We were given a seventy five pounds voucher as a Xmas treat from family to spend at the Drunken Duck restaurant. Valid for a year so we kept it to celebrate an anniversary. Visited on sunny night on 1st July. Booked online, very easy to do. Confirmation received and a reminder before the date. Staff were very professional, friendly and... More

Nice location very relaxed and great staff. Food was well locally sourced and tasted very nice. Only issue was not much choice for lunch but food was nice and service spot. Some great places close by in the local village. Keep up the good work

On a recent touring holiday of the U.K. we managed to visit some old haunts. This pub held very fond memories from the late 1980's. Parking still isn't great but the cosy friendly bar now with local beers quickly made up for that. The menu has gone up market too. A very enjoyable few hours. Accomodation now available on site... We paid for the best room here, the Garden room as we were on our last night away on honeymoon. The room was spacious with a view of just trees in a field behind, no mountain side or anything breath taking which I had anticipated. The bathroom was very nicely fitted out, clean with a lovely powerful rain shower &... More

Surpassed all expectations. It was lashing rain so we walked into a busy and friendly establishment. Got talking to so many lovely people as we had a drink at the bar. The menu was great and it took a while to choose. I had beef cheek (perfect) and my partner had the port belly which was tender and succulent. The... More

Stayed just one night here. Rooms ok, but mine was by the extractor for the kitchens, and therefore noisy. Food was good, service fine. It seemed like the person on reception wasn't particularly interested, as, on leaving, never asked if all had been ok. Maybe she knew it wouldn't be because of the room that I had, but hey a...
