I have eaten at the Duck a number of times, both on my own as a couple and with friends. Food never let's us down and wine selection always good. The only thing I don't enjoy is the double seating. Having to book at 6pm and move by 8pm. We didn't really get a chance to have dessert as told... More

Stayed here last Sunday night. Had been looking forward to a bit of luxury (booked the garden room) as we both work long hours and don't often get time off together. From the moment we arrived we felt as if we were 'a burden' to staff who hardly said a word never mind cracked a smile. Afternoon tea was OK... More

My husband and I were treated to a stay at the Drunken Duck for our 50th Wedding Anniversary. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. It is a very popular Inn with visitors dropping in from other areas for lunch etc. Afternoon cream tea was included and it was lovely to sit outside and enjoy. The evening meal was excellent... Presented ourselves at the bar and were quickly shown to our table. Staff were friendly and being given a sample of elderflower champagne was a nice touch. Food was delicious and worth spending a bit more on, although portions weren't huge. Service was a bit disappointing. They weren't particularly busy but it took a very long time for orders to... Stayed here recently after being 3 or 4 times several years ago. It is still a lovely place but unfortunately, is no longer excellent. I had raved about it to my partner who had never been before, so was a little embarrassed that it turned out to be less than I had remembered. Breakfast: really nice but now cut down... More

Wanted a nice restaurant to celebrate my 30th birthday.. After looking through the menu choices at the michelin star restaurants in the area we decided to check out other local places and came across the Drunken Duck. The menu seemed expensive but gave an impression of luxury and exquisite food. The only tables available were at 6:30pm and 9pm. We... More

If you sit outside, you can enjoy the stunning views of the mountains, yet inside a bit small and crowded. We came here for our first time for lunch. The menu looked pricey but sounded appetising. The soup and fish finger sandwich which we ordered was poor taste, ate it because we were hungry not because we enjoyed it. We... More

Our one night stay here was very unexpectedly comfortable and comforting. Afternoon tea with scones and cream of epic proportions after a long journey north was welcome. Our room was extremely comfortable, furnished by someone with a good eye for detail. Plenty of bottled water on supply for slight problems with drinking water - but glasses in the room would...
