Amazing food, great service and they also show The Footy. I didn't stay here, we just ate and drank but would possibly consider staying in future! I had an excellent steak and ale pie and my fiancé had the chicken and bacon. They had a great selection of draught beers/ciders and at good value too!

The room was large and clean and fresh and comfortable, with superb views across Ambleside and the fells beyond. Bathroom large, shower excellent, with fresh towels every day. Although above the bar it wasn't noisy, and a good sleep was guaranteed. The 'Full English' breakfast was superb, and the evening meals were great examples of 'pub grub' at it's best.... More

Ordered the wedges for starter, gammon for main (which also came with chips) really filling and good quality food. Great location right in the centre of town next to all the other amenities. Priced fairly compared to other food places and would definitely return.

We stayed in a small double room on the top floor for 2 nights. The hotel was chosen partly because it had parking and wifi, however neither of these were available. Parking was a nightmare - after negotiating the extremely narrow access we found the handful of spaces to be fully occupied - which meant we had to try to... More

Handy local to out B&B. Friendly staff and a good selection of beers and spirits. Actually used the catering on one of the evenings, First class meal nicely presented, plentiful and piping hot. Only downside for me was the Gents, not well presented let the establishment down. Oh albeit I didn't use it I am almost sure there was car... More

Enough said, may be the clue is the need for a doorman I was not sure if his job was to welcome people or to help people to exit, you choose and then make your own mind about whether to spend you money here or one of the many Pubs in the area. There is a wide selection of beers from... More

Recently refurbished room, good size modern bathroom. Excellent bed, we stayed on the 4th floor. Good size TV. Be prepared to climb many stairs if you are on higher floors. Staff friendly and helpful, helped with luggage. Limited parking. Excellent free wifi.

I was apprehensive about this, but it was within my budget in the middle of high season, so I went for it. When we approached the place on the main one way system through the village, I was apprehensive. My heart sank when I walked in, a public bar with a smell of stale chip fat. That however was the... Stayed here for 3 nights - booked 5 rooms - all perfectly comfortable and clean - fresh towels and bed made etc every day. Good location but parking difficult at back of pub and down narrow passageway. Other options available nearby - somebody from our party parked just down the road for 3-4 days for 15 pounds. Great full English... More
