We were a bit apprehensive before visiting due to some reviews but I can gladly say they were inaccurate. First of all the owners are super friendly, hospitable and want to make your stay as nice as possible. Breakfast is lovely even if there is only a 30 minute window from 830-900. Just get up, enjoy the food and you... More

The walmar good friendly bed and breakfast our room small but clean and excellent breakfast. The owners very friendly and helpful couldn't do enough for us as we had a downpour of snow overnight and were a little snowed in, in the car park.

We stayed at Walmar for two nights and were generally pleased with the overall quality, however, there is room for improvement. The car parking arrangements at the rear are very tedious and we found this rather annoying, as it is easy to become hemmed in. After the first experience of this, we opted to park elsewhere, to avoid a repeat... More

We stayed at the Walmar early September and had room eight, a ground floor room with bath, shower and comfortable sitting area with TV. The window looked out across the hills and the view was a delight to wake up to. The Walmar is situated just on the edge of town with pubs, restaurants and shopping just a hundred yards... More

Quite a few faults with this place, unfortunately. The car park situation is a nightmare as there are eight spaces for guests but only the last two cars have the ability to leave unimpeded - you may well get trapped by other cars and be unable to drive out. This is immediately obvious upon arrival but the host says it... More

I arrived in early mid 2015 and enquired politely about room availability. Response - " we don't do kids". Door slammed, with angry response. Horrible chap, would actually feel uncomfortable staying their even it he had asked us in. Quite hideous experience. Avoid...

The service is crap, receptionist unfriendly, rude, not polite and very unprofessional! Especial the one today around 7pm, who was very rude to guest who came asking for information. I'll never stop in this hotel again or let anyone I know staying there!

Stayed at this apparently 4 star B and B for two nights. Agree with other reviews with reference to parking. It is free but not ideal. This is the perfect environment if you want the Boarding School feeling. We booked a Large Double but the room was tiny as was the shower room, wouldn't like to have been given a... More

We stayed here for 3 nights on arrival were met by owner who showed us where to park. Were then shown to room 3 on the 1st floor which extremley clean but a little on the small side including the bathroom. My one main gripe is the small window allowed to take breakfast which is 8.30-9.00!,on holiday you dont want... More

Lovely small B&B right in the centre of Ambleside. Easy access to town and lake by foot and breath taking walks by foot and car. Only negative would be the short time frame for breakfast and sometimes uncomfortably quiet dining room. Breakfast was delicious. Friendly couple who ran it with maps and advice to offer.
