Stayed two nights whilst visiting our daughter at Hull university. Great location at the side of Hull Minster, and the secure parking is a 5 minute walk away. The deluxe apartment we stayed in was spotlessly clean, bright, modern and cosy. Comfortable x large bed and underfloor heating which was welcome in December. I would definitely recommend and intend to book again . Two wee points...it would be nice to have a teapot or coffee pot and decent sized cups...!

Room Tip: Parking is 5 min walk away but worth using. There is minimal parking near the minster.

Hi Jayne, Thank you for the lovely review! We'll definitely take these points on board - The mugs tend to be varying sizes in different rooms, but we have ordered some of the larger sizes this week to tackle this issue going forward. We hope to continue improving! Thank you kindly again, Hideout

Visited whilst working in Hull. Communication in advance all good with secret pin code to enter building and room . All very secure. Spotless clean modern apartment with everything you need. Arrived in Monday night to hear church bells ringing for approximately 3 hours which was ok but then every 15 minutes they chimed. Found it really difficult to sleep the 2 nights despite having earplugs in which were provided.

By all accounts of an earlier review the longer term guest had issues with refuge collection, he means refuse but never mind (lol) and the bells too! On checking the bells had been in the tower for 400+ years and they are a delight to hear, ringing out on Monday evening this fine skilled traditional art that is very much heard but the bellringing volunteers not seen. Long May they continue and long May the fine Minster stand in the centre of Hull as it is an absolute asset, as is the Hideout! Being a regular traveller across many countries in Europe and wider, this gets top marks, why? Simply because it works, it’s beautifully specked, wood flooring, deep granite grey and white in the bathrooms, the rainfall showed a delight, two televisions one lounge, one bedroom, lovely kitchen, comfy sofa, it could not, neither should it be faulted and that’s why the earlier reviewer was complaining about aspects outside of this building and if you just think for a minute, the owners have put a lot of investment in, this is now the result, it cannot be bettered, unless the last reviewer wants a Caribbean Sea view, but in Hull that’s stretching it a little. Hull itself reminds me of how Liverpool became such a vibrant city, I sense the same here and it’s future is only just re-starting. Good luck Hideout, you deserve it, your attention to detail is the best. Definitely stay there again without hesitation & cannot wait to hear the bells pealing out across this city.

Location is good if you don't mind the noise from the street till the early hours of the morning, there is some rest bite after this till the deliveries start arriving for local business and refuge collections, but not from the minster bells which sound every 15mins and then on a Sunday continuous for around an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening and the same on Monday night . HH mitigation for this is earplugs and close the windows, which is fine, but then the room is stiflingly hot, my rooms were nice and everything you would need to do some cooking yourself. The first night I arrived couldn't find the car park, eventually left the car outside the property and went on foot a lot of the roads are closed, on my return, I had a ticket £35, the car park is a 7-minute walk and only limited spaces available, apparently, this is just at the top of the road it is not. My room was cleaned once a week and replenished with clean towels then, but if you ask they will do it when you want, but I always felt uncomfortable to ask as the supervisors were always complaining they were very busy and I felt like I was putting them out, so didn't bother. I liked the check-in being keyless but didn't enjoy having to work out where everything was and if you run out of teabags you will need to go and get these from the third floor, I have never stayed in a hostel, but the HH is what I would imagine it to be like and don't understand how it won 4 in a bed . I stayed initially in the room on the street, one night I was woken by someone trying to kick in the next rooms front door, apparently, they were so drunk they mistakingly thought it was their room even though they were staying in a different hotel, I say hotel, this is not a hotel it is nothing more than a hostel. One of the nights, the council had a band playing till midnight, (a rock band) the noise was unbearable when I mentioned this to the supervisors they had no knowledge this was happening and stated if I wanted to discuss a refund I should contact the council to discuss this, that is the general attitude of HH and the total lack of knowledge of how the hospitality trade works. My advice for anyone wanting to visit Hull, which by the way is a lovely city and folk are friendly, is to stay somewhere else.

Tony… I’m sorry you felt you needed to come for us with this review. To clarify, the first ever 1 star review this Management has ever received. Only a bitter person, who has no leg left to stand on, would choose to leave their only review like this, even after we’ve gone through all this privately again and again... It’s disappointing (but not in the least bit shocking) that a 50 y/old Working Professional Male is trying to diminish an independent business run by two Female Young Professionals. We hope you can let this one go now you've left this review - Because continuous displays of intimidating behaviour, gaslighting staff, and the numerous threats of "Do this, or I'll find alternate accommodation" clearly wasn't enough for you while you were with us. Let us address your points – • Noise: As a City Centre hotel, we could not be more in the thick of it – it’s true, that City Centre noise will occur. (Shock) When booking at Hideout, you are booking accommodation adjacent to a Minster, where, you guessed it, THERE WILL BE BELLS. It’s clear (but I will reiterate) that these noises are very much out of our control, and we do provide ear plugs, which 99% of guests find more than satisfactory. You said it yourself, you’re from deep in the countryside and used to stark silence. • Parking: Parking is clearly outlined in all guest’s arrival correspondence, several times over, including texts to your personal mobile with a link to a map. The information for directions can also be found on our website under the header ‘PARKING’. It is one right turn, then one left Tony, a 4-minute walk at best. As you mention certain roads were closed, so the walk may have been a few minutes longer at this time. It was your personal choice to leave the car on the side of the Minster and therefore receive this ticket. It states clearly on our website "Please be aware there are regular traffic wardens who patrol this area." AND "Parking directly opposite the front of Hideout on Hull Minster property is strictly not allowed, This area may be used for loading only." So... I'll say no more on that. • Cleaning for long stays: A full room turnaround is completed once a week, including bedding changes and fresh linen, just to clarify for anyone reading – not just new towels popped in. We ask any extra cleaning requests to give 24 hours’ notice, as yes, a functioning hotel in Peak Season, is very busy. Any request which had this notice, a clean was provided. Any request which was expected there and then with 0 notice, would not have been given, as we cannot magic staff out of thin air to be on site at 7pm in the evening for example. • Extra Items: Items such as tea bags, extra coffee and other amenities are there for guests to help themselves, if they so wish. Quite nice we think?? You were situated on the top floor, where these items were kept – A 20 second walk down the corridor. Should you have asked for staff to provide a full box for you, this could have very easily been done? Clutching at straws with this one Tony… • Room Changes: You initially stayed on the Ground Floor and moved due to the noise of passing traffic and bells. The evening some drunk passers-by had attempted to enter through another gate, did not disturb you in any way or initiate this change of rooms, in fact you had no idea of it occurring until Management came to check on your well-being the following morning after the incident. So, again, this had 0 impact on your stay here, and is being used to try and ward off future business with us – I see a pattern here. • Band Playing: A local band… playing in a separate venue… that had finished by 10pm… on a Saturday night... We discussed this time and time again, and as we have already stated, we would not provide a refund for this disturbance, due to the already discounted stay you received, the free parking you received, the free extra guest stays in your room we allowed, the no charge for the continuous smoking. We provided you a list of all surrounding events happening in the City Centre to be aware of, and provided you with the contact who hosted the band playing (Hull City Council) who were very happy to discuss the matter with you, and discuss compensation, but again no - This had to be a fault with Hideout personally. * Simply put, you cannot help someone who does not want to be helped. * Hideout will always encourage local bands, local venues, anyone trying to survive in a post-pandemic World to hold those events! Drink those beers, support your local scene and keep Hull thriving! And guests of ours, go to those events, make some noise! Be merry, be happy to be alive, meet local people and enjoy yourselves – no doubt we’ll be there too and you can have a beer on us! Because that is what Hideout promotes. Tony is unhappy. Don’t be like Tony. I hope any future potential guests reading can appreciate the MANY positive reviews Hideout has to offer, and not let this unhappy person achieve what they have set out to do, which is impact us in any way. We will not let that happen.

Clean with lovely decoration. A classy apartment hotel in a very central location. We were upstairs in apartment 12 which had a view right into the minster. Apartments were very quiet inside, although the street noise on the bank holiday weekend nights was loud. Earplugs were on the bed on our arrival, but I have my own which I always use anyway and we slept very well. Milk, coffee, tea, biscuits etc were all in the kitchen. Very fast Wi-Fi, two good TVs with Freeview and internet, good oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, comfy 6’ bed and a lovely bathroom. Car parking felt very secure. I parked nearby for 15 minutes to unload, then walked back from the car park which took 5 minutes by cutting through the Lowgate car park. Highly recommended.
