Stayed here last night and celebrated my 40th birthday with a group of 13 of us and booking 7 rooms between us. We ate in their beautiful big function room which was great as we can be loud and then knew we weren't disturbing others. Good points were: pretty hotel, very helpful efficient staff. I got a free upgrade to...

Didn't stay but had a long lunch with friends before Christmas. Mostly the service was very good and the food was mostly also very good. Didn't expect that from a hotel restaurant. The young lady who served us was very attentive and had a good, professional but friendly, manner about her. We weren't rushed out which was nice. We all...

We had dinner here on NY eve (£70 a head). The service was good but the food was pretty poor/average and taking into account high staff costs for NY, there was no way the meal was worth even a third of this money. The salmon was chewy and fishy and was not eaten!. The lamb main was good but the...

We attended the Hugmany event last night on the Pantiles. We donated £10 each to attend the event and were more than happy to do so to support two very worthwhile local cancer charities. The hotel directly benefitted from the festivities laid on for this event. The hotel was happy to take our money all night in payment for drinks...

Visited the hotel for lunch today as a family of four with a dog. Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant area although are welcome in the Lounge area. The service was very and the food was delicious. Main courses of steak, braised beef plus others but went for the burger which was gorgeous, very filling which meant I had...

Having only recently moved from Tunbridge Wells we returned to have lunch with family (elsewhere) but stopped here for coffee during our walk and were aghast at the price of 4 small coffees, £12.60 which included a service charge of 12.5% of £1.40, for staff to walk 20 steps! Suffice to say I will not return. Austerity has never hit...

First impressions were not good as no hotel reception, you had to book in over the bar while the bar staff were very busy and distracted. Rooms are small although interesting the creepy pictures on the wall are not. Breakfast was average and not buffet style and choices not very good for someone who is gluten and dairy free. As...

We stayed here on a very wet weekend for a party that was being hosted at another venue nearby. It was a great location: central and in what seemed to us to be the smart, historic end of town. It's a well-maintained, cosy hotel in a listed building with boutique hotel rooms. Wonderful staff - who worked hard to make...

We stayed here for 2 nights, for a well earned break from a busy time at work....Firstly, I want to say that the staff here are the best part of the hotel.... Dan and Matt get a special mention, as they were amazing and couldn't do enough for you, but all the staff were very friendly and helpful. the hotel...

Stayed here this weekend with a group of friends. It was particularly busy as the Xmas lights were being turned on opposite the hotel, so the comfy sofas had been taken over by local people waiting for father Xmas! Our room was beautiful but sadly we had a few issues such as the radiator not working and no hot water....
