4th time here and everything was excellent. Location, ambiance and staff are first class. A special thank you to Maria: we were here under difficult circumstances and she was very understanding. We had a small problem with our room and Maria sorted it out perfectly. Thank you Maria and the Hotel du Vin. Thoroughly recommend.

Overnight stay with my Husband & our small dog, as a birthday treat. Cream tea, and bistro evening meal. I loved our principle room, slipper bath, and monsoon shower. Lovely large room, with good quality toiletries, water, twining tea's & Nespresso coffee machine. Large comfy bed, white crisp bed linen! Magazines & large TV. We enjoyed a fantastic evening meal...

We went to a wedding here, and the occasion was lovely. The staff were nice and the food very pleasant. We had decided to stay the night before as it was so far from where we live. The room had a double bed and an en suite shower room. The bedroom was very cramped, and we couldn't walk by the...

We booked a superior room for our stay over Christmas. We chose a superior room since my husband is 6ft 7 and we needed a king-sized bed. The first room we were offered was beautifully decorated, but the bathroom was so badly arranged with the toilet so squeezed between the heated towel rail and the sink that my husband could...

Yet another business trip with an overnight stop, completely wasted on a workaholic travelling without his wife. I have stayed at Hotels Du Vin in a few towns over the years and their rooms have a spacious elegance and a feeling of sexy luxury that would be ideally suited to a long weekend away with my wife. Instead, I arrived...

Well worth a visit, great value, wonderful menu and attentive staff. We went on a cold Friday night in January and were please to see an open fire in the bar to sip delightful champagne before going to out table. The menu choice was varied and the quality of the dishes was superb- I could've chosen every dish!! House Chardonnay...

Stayed here on business just before Xmas. I have stayed at the Hotel due Vin in Bristol a number of times and found it to be excellent. This however felt different somehow. Not so friendly and a bit dark and dingy, especially the bar with purple walls, dark wood and low intensity lighting. It was all a bit depressing. Service...

I took my partner for dinner in the Bistro for her birthday last week. The hotel is beautiful on the inside, the bar is very lovely with comfortable seating and a welcoming fire in the middle of the room. The staff were fantastic. They took our drinks order and we ordered our dinner before we sat down in the restaurant....

Lunch with friends who recommended the restaurant, service a little slow and took 45 minutes to receive our tomato soup starter. Luke warm and needed seasoning however, the second course was a visit to the buffet which was delightful. A full spread of fish, meat, salad and sauces, my favourite being the hand carved salmon. We all had the Aberdeen...

I have just had lunch with a client and my colleague at the Hotel du Vin. The dining room is elegant and spacious. To start I had the Beef carpaccio with a Scotch egg on top followed by the Mutton which was superb. You know what you're going to get at the Hotel du Vin, great food, excellent service and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel du Vin Tunbridge Wells is set in one of the town's architectural landmarks, a Grade II-listed sandstone mansion built as a private residence in 1762. We have retained its authentic detail carefully, adding our unique touch to the 34 bedrooms with antiques and memorabilia. Guests can enjoy a game of boules, dining on the garden terrace with its wonderful views across Calverley Park, or a wander through the hotel's very own vineyard. BEDROOMS: Housed within this impressive building are 34 timelessly styled bedrooms and stunning suites, all featuring luxurious handsprung mattresses, fine Egyptian linen, deep baths and powerful drench showers, plasma TVs, DVDs and air conditioning. BISTRO: Open all week, and under the tutelage of head chef Daniel McGarey, Bistro du Vin is at the heart of our hotel, a classic, French styled, elegant and informal setting for lunch, dinner, to meet, celebrate or simply pass the time. Dine on the finest produce the Kent has to offer from local heroes such as herbs and seasonal vegetables from local nursery chef's herbs, meat from Woodlands Farm and fish from Chapman's of Sevenoaks. These are only a handful of the suppliers included within our homegrown & local philosophy. ... more   less
