Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel which belongs to Shepherd Neame Brewery. Receptionist was friendly and helpful, and our room was ready when we arrived spot on 14.00. We stayed in Room 18 which is a twin on the 3rd floor. It has lovely views across the common and the town. Sitting at the window was a bit like...

We really enjoyed our stay here. We had been in Bournemouth earlier for a wedding and stayed here whilst visiting family.the good points were:- the staff, friendly and helpful, the cleanliness, the food - breakfasts were freshly cooked, the beds - very comfortable with fresh linen, our room which had great views, the bar & brasserie. Less good were the...

We booked 2 rooms and they were very nice rooms and generally a very nice hotel. BUT, if you stay whilst a function is going on at the same time, then be prepared not to sleep! Noise insulation is very poor. We were allocated a 'family room', which is next to a function room, playing loud music and you can...

Stayed one night and I was very pleasantly surprised by the hotel. As a solo traveller, it was fantastic too be given such a beautiful room (we are so often put in a room the size of a shoe box overlooking the bins ..!). I had Room 28 - huge, peaceful colours, nice bathroom and very quiet overnight and early...

Booked for a one night stay to attend the funeral of a friend. Arrived just before 12 noon yesterday and tried to check in. Was told the room was ready so carted my bag up to the third floor only to find the cleaners still in the room! Finally managed to get in the room by 12.30, I know the...

Stayed at the hotel for a little 2 day getaway with my partner. Staff were helpful and our room was kept very clean. It's stylish rooms and close proximity to the town were a real surprise considering the low cost. I would definitely stay again if I'm in the area.

Had a lovely evening at this hotel. The staff were attentive but unobtrusive. The starters arrived after a short wait and were lovely particularly the tomato soup. After another short wait the main courses arrived. Again food was as described and good quality. Would happily go back there. It was surprisingly quiet there it's a shame more people don't know...
