We spent a night at the Canterbury Cathedral Lodge before attending a memorial service in the cathedral the following day. The location was ideal and the hotel was excellent. The staff were extremely friendly, the rooms comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. It was an excellent choice of hotel and highly recommended for anybody who wishes to have easy access... Lovely environment, clean, modern and friendly staff. Would recommend staying here as a very pleasant experience awaits. Whether for a special occasion, weekend retreat or visiting friends or family, staying at Canterbury Cathedral Lodge suits any occasion. Would visit again.

10/10 for location - set in the grounds of the Cathedral which allows you to enter the Cathedral for free as regularly as you wish throughout your stay. 10/10 for breakfast - ample amounts of food and variety. Continental and full English breakfasts, plus fresh bread and cheeses available. You really couldn't ask for more, they provide so much. 9/10... More

You could not be closer to the centre of this historic town and a visit to the Cathedral is a must. Fairly modern decor blends and compliments the surroundings of the gardens of the cathedral. Rooms are well equipped and overlook the courtyard and one side of the Cathedral. You are literally a stones throw from the Kings Mile, and... More

We stayed in the main building of this hotel and it was perfection. I understand there's an annex building which is also nice, but there is a climb to get upstairs. Ours was a handicapped accessible room which was all that was available when we booked. It looked to be well appointed for that purpose. Comfortable bed. Lovely tea and... More

If you are going to stay in Canterbury, this is the place to be. It is wonderful to be staying in the Cathedral Precincts, especially in the evening when you can stroll around in peace. Admission tickets to the Cathedral are included in the price, which is lovely, especially if queues for the ticket office are long, you know that... More

It's a clean, bright, comfy lodge-style mini hotel with impeccably pleasant (friendly, not fawning) staff inside the Cathedral grounds. We spent a pleasant hour in the private garden before heading out into the City for dinner and, as the public are all gone by 9pm, we rang a doorbell at the Butter Market Gate to be allowed back in. Our... More

We have stayed here 3 times now and love this location. The 1st time, in the annexe, was very noisy early in the morning. Subsequently we have booked rooms with a cathedral view, just magnificent! The rooms are not luxurious but ideal for a short stay. Breakfast has always been excellent, with attractive dining room alongside a courtyard garden. Staff... More

We had a deluxe double in the main building with views of the cathedral and I'd agree with every other comment about the unrivalled location, friendly staff, great breakfasts etc. However the room was very small by modern standards and getting around it if we both wanted to at the same time involved some fairly tricky choreography. The main gripe... More
