Stayed on the 15th July ...must say a lovely hotel with lovely staff! Excellent location and excellent position regarding getting to points of interest. We arrived just after 12.30 and our room was ready which after a six hour drive was most needed! Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. Would definitely recommend !

We was in the annex which was quite a nice, well appointed room. The staff were all very attentive and the bar (which we did not use) looked good. On site, city centre parking was very useful as Canterbury is expensive to park. Breakfast was good too with a choice of buffet and full English.

We stayed here for 2 nights in a very spacious room (located nearest to the front door). Decorated in authentic, traditional style, the room also had original features like the fireplace, cupboards, hatch and bell. The bathroom was huge, exceptionally clean and attractively presented. Breakfast was delicious and could choose from a great selection. The only thing that would have... More

Stayed here for two nights. The location is perfect, it's near the town centre but well soundproofed. Adequate parking. The room was all we wanted, fair size with nice bathroom. The breakfast was good with enough choice. I'd have preferred a pot of coffee rather than having to get up each time to use the filter coffee pot on the... More

A great location to visit the city. Parking was free as was the wifi. We had a room with a four poster bed which was excellent and comfortable. Whole place was clean and tidy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb with a vegetarian cooked breakfast on the menu. Proper English breakfast with plenty of tea and coffee.... More

Located in a peaceful nook of the old city. Nice area to safely park your car. Prompt service. Sylvia at the front desk went out of her way to be helpful and made our visit very pleasant. Included breakfast is convenient and delicious. Room 4 was an en-family suite with 3 beds and quiet.

We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of this property with it's secure car parking and very central location (2 mins walk to centre / Cathedral) The allocated room was large and well serviced with all the usual trimmings (Large TV, Tea/Coffee facilities, Hair Dryer, etc). On site bar and lounge for a night cap. Excellent breakfast spread (Cereals... More

we picked this hotel based on reviews and location and it was fine for our stay. we were a little disappointed though as it bills itself as a 4 star - but it really is only 3. I think they would do better to advertise themselves as a solid 3 star - where they would shine- rather than a 4... More

We stayed two nights in a twin room. There was a mix up at check-in where we were shown to a double room, but this was fixed up quickly. The room was small, but adequate. The beds were extremely comfortable, tea and coffee facilities were good, and everything was very clean. Breakfast was nice, though it took a while for... More

Good hotel, friendly and helpful staff, easy walk into town center, a good breakfast and a great shower. We asked for a small double, which was a bit cramped. The room lighting was not sufficient however. Even with the very dim bedside lights it was difficult to read after dark.

Castle House Hotel Castle House Hotel is built astride the ancient city walls of Canterbury and standing in the shadow of Henry II's Great Keep itself - reputedly the third largest in the Kingdom . This unique building is your choice for a bed and breakfast experience, steeped in history. Castle House Hotel is an architectural gem and a scheduled ancient monument. The main house was built in the 1730s, incorporating part of the Norman city walls, the Roman Worthgate, and the only visible remaining section of the original city moat, now of course drained of water. Here, surrounded by Georgian opulence and decoration of the highest standard, you are just a few minutes' short walk from the whole of the mediaeval city: the magnificent Cathedral; the maze of winding streets and the romantic ruins of the Castle and city walls... Book your room at Castle House Hotel and history and convenience will combine to make your stay both memorable and enjoyable.
