The location is so lovely especially at night, you can make many beautiful shots through their old wood windows (The building itself is just adorable!). I got there and found out that I have accidentally misplaced my reservation on booking.com, but the staff lady is so friendly and helpful and patient. At the end I got the single room "Dawn",...

We stayed here on Saturday night and it was my friends birthday. I asked if they could possibly put something in her room for me and charge to my account. What a super surprise for her when we arrived to find a beautiful bouquet of flowers, some chocolates and some birthday balloons !!! The staff were lovely, the breakfast was...

Only here for 1 night, for work reasons: little to add to other reviews. Great central location, street noise (especially on a Friday night) is inevitable. 600 year-old building means that it has tremendous character. Staff very helpful, everything clean, warm room, comfortable bed - and armchair. If I'm going to be critical, I could have done with more than...

One night stay. Got a parking voucher from reception before parking which saved us lots of money. Room very warm. Clean and comfortable. Very central. Step out and you are in the centre of Canterbury. Breakfast was ok.

What a little gem of a hotel in a fantastic location in the centre of Canterbury! Staff very welcoming. Rooms clean and hotel showed great attention to detail with toiletries provided and a kettle to make tea and coffee! Continental breakfast was excellent quality. Would recommend this hotel.

This hotel is in a fantastic location, in a fantastic City, but the street noise outside didn't let me sleep much. I guess if we had a room at the back, looking toward the beautiful Canterbury Cathedral, my sleep would have been blissful. We loved the quirkiness of this place though, and it was so good to be in the...

Thank you for reviewing your stay last April. Whilst we are pleased that you loved the historical nature of the hotel, we are sorry that the street noise disturbed your sleep. Unfortunately Canterbury can be a lively place especially on Saturday nights and street noise can impact on the sleep quality of guests staying at any of the city centre...

From the minute I checked in the staff were amazing, really helpful. I did not use many facilities as I was in Canterbury for work but would love to return to this hotel for a leisure visit. Very quirky and authentic and the location was fantastic. Would definitely return.

My second stay here for my graduation in Canterbury Cathedral. Smack bang in the middle of the shopping and eating area in the oldest part of town. The hotel is so old and I love the wonky floors and walls. Continental breakfast is included with beautiful fresh fruit salad. Real, tasty fruit chopped. A choice of thick and creamy yoghurt...

Thank you for choosing to celebrate your graduation at the Cathedral Gate and indeed for coming back again. We are glad that, like us, you loved the wonky floors and walls and appreciated the welcome given by the staff. We hope to see you again when you are next in Canterbury Kind Regards Rob

We have used this hotel twice now and will definitely be booking again in the future! Great location in the centre of town right on the doorstep to the front of the cathedral. This quirky hotel hosts the charm and character of the century's old cathedral building. Our room was cosy with a comfortable double bed, TV and kettle. We...

Thank you for your kind words which are appreciated by both myself and all the staff. Half of the rooms share bathrooms and we are glad that you were happy with the standard to which they are kept. The layout of the hotel is such that all the rooms can not be changed to en-suites but on the upside this...
