I stayed here for one night and wish it had been longer. The staff were extremely friendly, from check in to the bar staff and the staff at breakfast. The place has character and the room I had was fantastic. The breakfast was beautifully cooked and presented. I look forward to returning.

Stayed 2 nights and though it wasn't perfect I would definitely come back, though slightly better informed now. Car park - if facing the hotel it's to the right and behind. So, drive past the hotel with it on your left, turn left at the roundabout and there's a sign at the entrance. Breakfast - not great but attentive staff... More

What a treat! Splendid spread for an afternoon tea, actually I had the champagne/cocktail upgrade. Good value with sandwiches, cakes & warm scones with all the trimmings & a lovely cuppa. Had me beat so the friendly staff gave a goodie box to take away😋. Lovely setting with various snug areas. Shame that you cannot use their car park. Only... More

We went to the Falstaff for drinks yesterday at the end of a tiring shopping trip. This is a beautiful hotel with a great bar. The staff are super friendly and very accommodating. In particular Helen, who is amazing, her cocktails are a piece of art and the best I have ever tasted. She can make a drink that exactly... More

This cosy hotel is a short walk from the railway station and minutes from the city center. We enjoyed a spacious, quiet and comfortable room. Bathroom a bit outdated but confortable. Very nice breakfast. staff friendly and helpfull.

I am in two minds about this hotel. It is in a great location 2 minutes walk from the high street and 10 from the Cathedral. The staff were friendly and helpful. The downstairs area was very nice, oak pannelled walls and oak beams with comfortable seating for coffee or breakfast. Breakfast was OK. A choice of cooked items with... More

Great location, just outside the city walls, with very experienced, professional staff. Hotel lovely with the best breakfast we have had in a hotel for months, and I travel a lot with business, as well as leisure. Also has its own car park.

Stayed here last week in one of the rooms at front of hotel. Bit dated and bathroom a little grubby. No air conditioning so room intolerably hot. Worst shower of any hotel I have ever stayed in also! Secondary glazing on windows and was advised to remove it if hot! DIY hotel stays! There was also a pane of glass... More

The Falstaff is a very old Inn which has been modernised in parts, leaving the old charm sort of untouched. The bar area is very modern and attractive, the breakfast room is good too. As they are upgrading they are not currently (Sept 16) offering dinner or other meals, which is a pity, as I am sure it would have... More
