Just metres from Canterbury's medieval West Gate, this charming building dates back to 1403. A former coaching inn, it offers free WiFi and free parking, 2 minutes' walk from the city centre. The Falstaff still retains many original features, including oak beams and an open log fire. Each room has a TV for guests to use, and facilities for making tea and coffee. The hotel offers a cooked to order full English breakfast as well as self service buffet option. The bar offers a range of wines and variety of exclusive cocktails. Canterbury West Rail Station is a 3-minute walk from the building. The city's spectacular Norman cathedral can be reached in less than 10 minutes on foot.

I booked two superior rooms for one night. The first room (21) was beautiful, newly refurbished and clean. The second (26) was probably the worst room I have ever stayed in. The carpet was old, stained and seriously filthy. The bathroom was old and tired and not particularly

Dear supersar100 - Thank you for your feedback, There are different styles between the two rooms, but room 26 is a four poster bed and furniture is to fit that genre. The bathroom is still to be refurbished, but will be done shortly and we will review the room as well. Room 21 is more modern boutique. There is not a dining experience but there are a variety of restaurants very close to the hotel and the guests enjoy venturing around the city. The breakfast receives positive feedback, but at weekends it can be busy at peak times. Thank you for the review and I will pass on the praise to Grace.. Regards Miles S

Stayed last month for one night with my husband. Room was nice, bath in room was a nice touch! Room was in the area of renovation so the corridors had work ongoing (although didn’t see or hear anything but there were notes up informing guests) Lovely team on reception and the

Dear sarahbalms7124 - Thank you for taking to give us your feedback. We are delighted you enjoyed the room. The corridors are being completed, but it is being done on week day between check out and check in so it does not effect the guest experience. I was pass on the feedback to the breakfast team, as there should plenty of pastries and tea & coffee should be priority. The afternoon tea is very popular and it is to a high quality, our Pastry chef Nadine prides herself of them. We hope to see you return in the future. thank you Miles S

What a great find. We travelled down on bank holiday Sunday, not sure that we would find a parking space at the hotel - but not a problem. The hotel is situated at the top of the high street, literally minutes away from the centre and less than 10 minutes to the Cathedral. We

Dear Bigbas1910 - Thank you for the lovely review. We are delighted that we surprised you, in a positive way. The hotel is in the process of being refurbished and I'm sorry for the saw dust and loose screws on the top shelf. We receive positive reviews on how comfortable the beds are and the selection at breakfast covers all. We hope to see you return soon and We will look at the hot chocolate in bedrooms. Thank you and kind regards, Miles S

I had an afternoon tea here on bank holiday Monday and it is hands down the best afternoon tea I have ever ever had. Only £15 each! The staff were so so friendly and nothing was a problem, my Mum is gluten free and they tailored to all of our needs with no issues whatsoever.
