My husband and I decided to have a weekend away and chose Canterbury. We stayed at Franklin House which is a maximum 15 minute walk into the town (depends how fast you walk). The parking is round the back of the house and you have to then walk to the front. The door that says Franklin House does not open,... More

We have just come back from a one night stay here. The owner is really friendly and gave us maps of Canterbury so that we could find our way round. The room was modern, clean and had everything we needed - shower, small flatscreen TV and tea and coffee making facilities. The bed was comfortable. Even though our room was... More

On arrival at this bed and breakfast establishment we were greeted by the owner who took our bags from our car to reception. We then booked in and were shown to a very modern and up to date room {FAULTLESS}.Although our room was overlooking the main road it did not detract from a very good noghts sleep, the breakfast the following... Found this guest house on trip advisor. he rooms wre spotlessly clean. They had all the amenities advertised. The breakfast was really good with high quality produce. The owners are very freindly and have a good knowledge of the area and are more than happy to share this knowledge. A stones throw away from the city centre but not so... More

Franklin house is a very friendly guest house more like staying at a friends house than a hotel. The rooms were lovely and clean we had two a single and a double at the back of the house although it could be a bit noisy if you were staying at the front because of the busy road it is situated... Just a one-night stay but couldn't have asked for more. Room was well-equipped and spotless, I opted for the Continental breakfast which was delicious while other guests seemed to be enjoying the 'full English'. Owners were very welcoming and attentive. Parking is free but a little tricky, so make sure you speak to the owners beforehand to confirm exact details.

Absolute gem of a place. My split level single room was incredibly clean and spacious, with a great bathroom suite and nice views over the garden at the back of the property. The guest house is located on the Whitstable Road, which is only a 5-10 mins walk from the heart of Canterbury. It's a very safe area with low... More

Don't normally stay in B&Bs, but this seemed a good example of the breed – very clean, quiet, neutrally decorated and comfortable, and about five minutes’ walk from the Westgate (which itself marks the beginning of the High Street). Good breakfast, too, of the straightforward English variety. Attentive/chatty service.

Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in Canterbury. Franklin House was excellent value for money and very close to Canterbury West train station. The owner was also very friendly and offered us some good advice on things to do. It was snowing heavily all weekend so knowing that we had a very warm welcoming bed and breakfast to go back to was... More
