The hotel had a nice feel to it, and the room was fine once I had asked for a set of ear plugs from reception. Being located on the main road, traffic went past my window all night, and I needed the window open so the room wasn't hot. Besides that, the hotel was in a good central location and... More

We enjoy a good steak. We know a good steak when we try one! We are not happy to be told that 'the other diners aren't complaining!' We had an offer for two fillet steaks with dauphinoise potatoes and two glasses of prosecco so we decided to take it up a few weeks ago for a birthday celebration. The starters... More

We needed a bed & breakfast option which had parking and easy access to the town centre - the White Hart fitted the bill perfectly. The hotel was very well placed, pleasantly quirky due to its age & provided friendly service. Breakfast was good and we really liked the snug bar.

Having read some of the other reviews in here I'm a little surprised by some of the comments. The room I was in (no. 7) was lovely, it was spacious and had a beautiful 4 poster bed and a really comfortable mattress. The bathroom was large, nice big bath, a sink which was big enough to bath my kids in... More

We stayed two nights here because we enjoyed the first one so much. Beds are super comfy, rooms are huge but cosy, and the place has so much character! Food (we only had the breakfast) was wonderful and was only outdone by the phenomenal service. It's a long story but we completely mucked up the booking for the second night,... More

Just passing through and decided to stop for Sunday lunch - what a great choice we made! The hotel has a wonderful Olde Worlde atmosphere and it is evident the chef knows what he is doing. The service was impeccable and there was a wonderful wine selection which really complemented the food. Definitely worth a visit if you are in... More

Stayed in a suite which was delightful, the wife especially liked the four poster bed. The service we received from all the staff was excellent and in particular Fabio was very helpful indeed. The breakfast was delicious and a good selection of drinks. Any whiskey drinkers will appreciate the good range of single malts.

We had our wedding here and frequently go for dinner and drinks. Friday, Saturday nights is Anthony on the piano. Well run, friendly piece of history. The landlord Ross is friendly as can be and once a month there is a ghost tour lead by the entertaining Samatha.
