All I ask, as I am sure most hotel guests would, is to pay for a clean and comfortable place to stay with a modicum of thanks and appreciation for choosing to pay and stay at the hotel. Not at the Merton, the demand for payment proceeded any welcome, felt nothing more than inconvenience which had to be dealt with... More

We were left caught out in Hereford on a Saturday night and the Merton was the last place with rooms close to the city centre, so thought it was worth a go. The room was adequate however upon returning from an evening out, the key to the hotel's front door instantly snapped in the lock (no we weren't intoxicated!). The... More

Stayed for 1 night. Room was basic but clean bathroom had a lovely long bath Owners say they are currently renovating the property. Had intended to have a drink in the bar before going to our room but when we arrived back at 9.30 it was closed. Breakfast was made to order. Would stay again

A small disaster elsewhere resulted in us needing a hotel in Hereford at short notice and this one fitted us in. It was probably okay in the 1970s when it was last decorated but it's now just grim. Dated, smelly, really unfriendly, with a list of rules for their staff on display in reception which made me feel that I... More

Stayed here with a number of other family members on Saturday 16th July. I stayed in Room 5 which was very tired and far too stuffy and warm and I wasn't happy about dirty marks on the bedding. That said the price is reasonable, the breakfast was ok and the location is good however the guy on Reception was rude... More

We stayed 2 nights for a nearby wedding and so were looking for somewhere inexpensive in a convenient location. It's only 5 minutes' walk from the train station and although it's on a main road and our room was at the front of the building, we didn't find the traffic noise too troublesome. The room itself was clean and comfortable... More

Seems this is a new management, hotel is near city centre and within 5 minutes walking to train station. No lift. Rooms are clean and comfortable. OK wifi. Good breakfast. They have hanged a poster outside the hotel 'if you don't checkin before 10 pm, then you should stay outside' which I felt a bit rude. So, incase your flight... More

Stayed one night, clean fresh good value for money. The hotel I belive has been taken over by new management in February so the bad reviews before was due the old management I'm guessing. The only point I will say is we had to park over the road the bus station which we had to pay extra for but other... More
